gentlemen, although this board is predominately male, we're making an active effort to reach women. carry may be predominantly a "man thing", but i can think of no group that is more important to reach on this issue than women. if we can get women to accept the importance of carry, perhaps we can encourage them to carry responsibly as well.
it has recently been brought to my attention that the sexy images of nearly naked women makes this site uncomfortable for many women who visit here and this is exactly the opposite of the message we are trying to send. i hope to welcome women both into carry and into this site, not make them feel alienated by subjecting them to images of nearly naked women in posts and signatures.
i love women and find them beautiful...but this is not the proper place for sexy images. at this point i respectfully request that you guys refrain from posting any image that projects blatent sexuality. instead, help me welcome women into this site by displaying tact and courtesy. we can only benefit from having their input, and i look forward to it. thanks, |

Why do I fear my government? I am a proud Veteran. I am honest in my tax return. I do not participate in criminal/illegal activities. I have been scared of the unknown and startled by surprise, but I have never before experienced fear. I have faced overwhelming odds in which failure would have cost my life; however, I am still here because I had no fear. I have no fear of anything that bleeds. Why do I fear my government? |

| You have made a perfectly legitimate request Nathan. This is an informative forum and I think it presents a great opportunity for the ladies to get some great information on concealed carry. I think if we are entrusted to carry a concealed weapon that we are a cut above and should conduct ourselves as gentlemen. No need to offend anyone. |

| I TOTALLY AGREE WITH NATHANS COMMENTS I THINK THAT THE SHAPE THAT OUR COUNTRY IS IN AFTER POST 9/11 WE HAVE TO ENCOURAGE MORE AND MORE WOMEN INTO THE SELF DEFENSE MODE AND THE USE OF FIREARMS FOR SELF PROTECTION AND CONCEALED CARRY OPTIONS CASE CLOSED |

| Indeed, several times I have had Aimee looking over my shoulder at the posts and the signature lines have raised comments from her, not good ones either. I am here for the gun info, and friends, not anything else. It is much easier to get the wifey reading about this if she doesn't get defensive on me for the photos. |

Nathan,
I appreciate your suggestion very much. After stumbling upon this site as a reference from another forum, that request convinced me I wanted to be a part of this group as well. I look forward to many educational, fun, spirited, and entertaining discussions.
Thanks,
Tom |

| Does that mean I cannot post pics of sexy men, too? Dang, how will I ever live up to the image of my screen name. Just kidding. Although I doubt I would actually be uncomfortable with much of it I do appreciate the request. More importantly I appreciate the importance of getting women involved in carry and self preservation. |

Nathan, I whole heartedly agree. My wife is infavor of CCW just hasn't made the personal choice yet. I like to get her to read about other ladies that do because it helps her see see wouldn't be the only one out there. The all male environment can be very intimidating. So ladies please be "visible", we need your perspective.

I got my sister and bro-in-law to take the Kansas Concealed Course with me. Shelley even used one of my handguns to qualify. She recently purchased a Kel-tec in .380 and the dealer that sold it treated her as valued customer. Now if I could just get my wife to take the course all would be good.
We won't make any progress without the women. |

Nathan, good idea. But I will say this. In the week or two that I have been here I haven't seen any pictures that I find offensive. If I see a post that comes of as sexist, you can bet I will call out the poster. I've always been "one of the guys" in my own way. Being a woman and working in the auto racing industry back in the 70's & 80's I saw and heard my fair share of BS. And I never backed down from it, I took it head on and beat it. I learned pretty quick that if I was going to be considered half as good, I was going to have to work twice as hard, and actualy enjoyed the challenge. Maybe that's what turned me into a perfectionist, but I've never second guessed my days in the automotive world. I've been a lot of great places, had a lot of fun, and got to do a lot of things many, male or female, may never get an opportunity to do. Sure it was hard work, but I wouldn't trade my experiences for a soft cushy girly type job. I feel pretty comfortable with either a wrench or a gun in my hand, and I hope that everyone here will accept me and my "quirks" and treat me as an equal. I'll do my best to do the same for all the guys here Most women are a lot different, softer and more sensetive and I understand that, and I will do my part to make them feel just as welcome as anyone else. |

I appreciate the request, Nate and while I am female, I can honestly say that there is little that offends me: pics, language, jokes. Most of the guys/gals on chat would concur that I am pretty laid back and can fling it and receive it in good humor.
There have been a couple of instances though when I did open something and my daughter was right behind me. Yikes!! Inquiring 11-yr old minds do NOT need to know...lol. Other than that, I have had no issues with anything posted and I hope that no one has been offended by what I have said or done.
