I have a 12ga mossberg tactical for home security. Where are you guys keeping these things? I want to keep it within quick reach but not out in the open.

Mine is at the head of the bed, between my nightstand and the wall (in the corner) ... hard to spot unless you are 'really' looking for it.

My NEF Pardner Protector sits in the corner between the wall and my dresser about three steps away from the bed. One in the chamber, 5 in the tube, and 5 more attached to the stock. It is not in plain view. I keep my .45 in a Safepacker hanging from the bed so I can fight my way to the shotgun if I need to.

You are a very wise man. LOL!
If the wifey is happy, you will be happy.

We've left our headboard about 4-5 inches from the wall, and mounted hooks (brackets as a mini shelf) and the gun slides right in and out for ease. We're redneck.

Pistol on night stand Mossberg in closet middle shelf....above "kiddie" line of sight. The way our house is layed out the closet is the easiest place to be concealed and lock doors on both sides so you could hear which direction someone was comming from. Have a plan....discuss it....practice it. Also, don't forget to lock up your weapons when you leave the house on vacations, etc...

Right here! Only down toward the foot of the bed so I can get up without crawling over the entire weapon.

I put it by the bed every night and away during the day. I have found that this keeps me aware of my need for defense and I always have a picture in my mind so I can "go to the gun" when the time comes. I recommend that each of us look at our weapons and lights as the last thing we see before we turn out the lights. This creates a good habit that will be appreciated if and when you awake and find yourself in condition RED.

Bulldog, I think you could make one if you know someone bends sheet metal or put it in a vice and bend it. Drill on a leather strap to simulate a belt and attach a holster.

As much as I like the idea of hanging the shotgun on the bed like that, ummm, some of our "bedroom games" would probably knock it out of the holder and hit the dog in the head lol. The pistol is hanging on the mattress without any problem.

*********************************************************************

Bulldog, the handgun set up was made from a piece of 1/8 thk aluminum about 19" long. I bent it leaving about 12 inches to go under the mattress. The holster is just a cheap one with a belt hook going through a slot in the down side of the aluminum.

I know of no place to buy such a set up.

My shotgun rig is made out of the same type and size of aluminum.

Nice. Great "process" that I will now use. Appreciate your post.

I have an open cutout in my wall instead of a closet where the wall sticks out about 6 inches on one side. I keep my Winchester 1300 behind that. Its nearly completely invisible and less than 5 feet from my feet when I'm in bed. I also keep my XD-40 or .357 withing grabbing distance .
