I would like to keep this for the members that own and carry Glocks as their EDC. I realize that XD's and M&P's work very similarly but for just this post I would like to keep it focused on Glocks. How many of you carry a Glock everyday for concealed carry? Which Glock did you choose and why?
I am in a toss up between several different guns right now but I am pretty interested in a Glock, I just don't want to spend out all my money and get home with something I will get tired of in a month. Right now my only handguns are two 1911's one of which never leaves the safe other than for a little range time so my only carry guns are my Springfield MilSpec and a Taurus 85UL. I can conceal the 1911 but it is pretty much a winter carry if I want to conceal carry, I do open carry sometimes but it isn't my preffered carry method. The Taurus is great for deep concealment, but only 5 shots of 38spl is lacking.
So if I were to get a Glock my thoughts are so far: A G19, G23, G30, or G36 I have pros and cons for all of them.
Of all you that carry Glocks every day, which model did you choose and why? Thanks |

| I carry my Glock 23 everywhere I can. It works well for me concealability-wise and I don't feel lacking in firepower. |

I'm having the same dilema...with all of the research one might think it should be easier but the opposite is true...I have pretty much narrowed it down to the g19 for two reasons , 1 I already have a deep concealment 9mm and would like to only have to stock up and search for one caliber of ammo and 2. with the quality of 9mm sd ammo (especially the 147gr) I don't feel anyless protected by not carrying the .40...if I decide to get away from the 9mm I will just jump up to the .45, which then will lose out in the capacity dept, (that being .45capacity/overall size compared to the g19) I was going to rent a g19 today to make sure I liked it but would rather save that money and put it towards a holster to go with a g19 when I DO get one. Besides, with the amount of success that comes with the 19 and a load of people liking it, I would rather use the rounds that would be used while renting one, to be used in my own. |

G27 is my summer time EDC. Shot my brothers and decided I "needed" one.
Perfect size and easy to shoot. I have the Pierce grip extensions.
9 rounds of 40, plus another mag in my pocket.
He originally had the Glock 29 10mm until it was stolen, then he got the 27. I decided against the 10mm because it was hard to find ammo back when I got it. 10mm seems to be making a comeback.

I carry a G23 in a Supertuck at 3:30 and a G27 in a Fobus ankle holster. I like the fact that both pistols will accept the G23 mags for reloads. Also I like the .40 round.
Sometimes when the situation warrants it I only carry the G27 in the Supertuck and leave the G23 at home. You might consider this when going into a "gun free" zone. In this case I mean going into an area where guns are not permitted by a private organization, but they are not prohibited by law. An example of this would be the workplace.

My choice of EDC is my G27.
1. I chose it because I wanted a small package with a lot of punch.
2. ALSO, If I want to have the higher capacity of a G23, then I can just pop in a G23 mag with grip adapter and I can turn my 27 into a 23 with a shorter barrel but higher capacity.
Then, if I need a smaller, more concealable weapon, I can drop back in the factory 9 round mag.
I have no problem shooting the G27 either. I place my pinky neatly under the bottom of the handle (you're not supposed to use your pinky in shooting hand guns anyway).
I can put 10 rounds in an 8 inch circle at 20 yards and I'm not even that great of a shot.
The 27 is a great little shooter that you can throw in your pocket if you want to, or carry in a rig on your hip.
Here is a pic of the grip extension. This is NOT my gun. Just a pic I found.

I like having a full size grip which is why the 22 sees the most carry time. The 23 and 27 hardly ever see any carry time, and have pretty much been range guns for me in the last few months. If you are not able to conceal a full size, then the compact (19/23/32) is the best option for you if you like a lot of hand on your gun. When you get into the subcompact Glocks (26/27/33) most people tend to not like the factory mag because of the lack of a place for your pinky.
In all honesty Brian, I'd go with the 19. I think it will suit your needs very well. I'm going to be getting a 19 real soon to be my torture test gun, not that I haven't tortured the other ones already. With 9mm back to being readily available 100% of the time around here, I figure why the hell not. In addition to it being a torture test gun, I'm going to use it for my classes when I have females or new shooters. It's one of the best handguns out there to teach someone how to use if they aren't familiar with firearms at all because of their simplicity. |

| Now a Glock 19, recently changed from Glock 30 to the 19. I will be in the market for either a Glock 26 or 27 soon for a backup/summer gun. |

| I started out with the G21 (.45) but later came across a G29 (10mm) which gets the majority of carry. I did get a G24c but that would be a bit much for concealed carry. :-0 |

| The g19 seems to fit me very well. Now I have to find a more comfortable way to carry my two extra magazines. |

| G27: I conceal at all times and I have a "flab roll" (small one! Wink) and it's the easiest to carry for me. Mag extention you can carry 10 +1. Also, you can buy a barrel for about $140 bucks and some mags and down covert to a 9mm......(my understanding is the G26 won't up convert...maybe someone else could confirm) so you have 2 in one if ammo is the issue. Comprimise of size and capacity and I don't feel like I've given up much. 21 rounds with a spare mag is reasonable capcity with great comfort/size. |

| G30. It's the only Glock I own. Glocks aren't my favorite pistol. That would be either a good 1911 or a pre WWII Smith. But, Glocks are good tools. The 30 serves the purpose for which I need a Glock. |
