| I'll bet he has an ammo sponsor with something like that. It's probably the 100th time I've seen that, but every time I get a big grin on my face. |

| Do not buy an extra spare box of ammo, at a range, to put in your bag and save for later. You will shoot it up! |

My friends and I shot from 645 in the morning until 9, ate breakfast, shot till noon, at lunch, shot till 6pm or so, well then we called it a day and drank some cold ones and ate some bbq ribs lol |

| I used to fire about 200 rds. of ammo per handgun at the range. Now that both have reached their breaking in point, I just fire only 70-100 rds. per handgun nowadays. For the shotgun, I only fire between 80-100 rds. I usually fire the target loads as well as a small amount self-defense loads I want to get rid of. This pertains to both my handguns and shotgun. As for the rifle, unless there aren't any of my preferred .223 load (PMC) available, I use the same loads both for self-defense and target shooting. A rifle session is usually between 100-140 rds. However, I am planning to get rid of all my rifle loads and replacing them with a new set of rounds of the same brand (PMC). So my next session is gonna be all 250 rds. with breaks in between to let my AR-15 cool off. I have never fired this many rds. yet but I have plans to do so. With my handguns (H&K USP .40/S&W Model 457 .45), I bring two magazines, which I currently use and keep loaded for CCW carry and home defense. For my rifle, I bring about 4-5 magazines. But for upcoming 250 rd. session, I am planning to bring all 11 magazines, (3 20 rd. mags and 8 20 rd. mags). Everytime I also do a rifle range session, I also make sure I bring a spray can of CLP as well as a spare bolt assembly just in case a stoppage occurs for any reason. So far, none as of yet and I hope it stays that way. |

Shooting outdoors are totally different from indoors and require prior planning. And, since the winter season is coming, I also bring additional accessories that I don't usually bring to the indoor range, as listed: -field jacket strictly for shooting -knit cap -handwarmers (will be placed inside field jacket's pockets) -padded mat (for prone, kneeling, and sitting positions) -slings kept on my long guns (the outdoor range allows slinging of arms) -holsters for each of my pistols (outdoor range only allows holsters that point downward for the safety of the other shooters during shooting from the draw) -deployment bag (holds all 10 of my AR-15 rifle magazines) to sling on my own person -spray lube for prolonged shooting of my AR-15 carbine |

Full auto has a way of eating up ones ammo supply. One hears a lot of shooting stories here in Arizona. One is that Mike Dillon of Dillon Precision designed and built his first progressive reloader, at least in part, because he had obtained a full auto sub gun or machine gun. Whatever the reason he produces products that are now pretty much the standard in high volume reloading..
Another Mike Dillon story that one has to love, and I got this one on the "History Channel" so I figure its completely true, is that Dillon owns an air force training jet with machine guns on it (special government licensing) that he likes to fly over a large piece of desert he has and strafe cars and other targets of opportunity. Now that must be hell on ammo (see video clip) , but if you can afford your own personal hanger with planes and copters in it on Scottsdale Air Park, maybe 10's of thousands of rounds of ammo is no longer a big deal.
