I don't have a big vice and was trying a C clamp to squeeze the mag but didn't want to crack the mag. I saw a youtube video from mossycreek and he said to use a table to press on to get it to free up...I don't think so! Any other hints before I let the gun shop do it?

I used to use a small Allen wrench to remove Glock mag floorplates. Then I got a Glock Armorer's tool and it works even better. All you need to do is insert the tool (or punch, screwdriver, or Allen wrench) into the hole at the base of the magazine. Apply slight pressure with the tool toward the front of the magazine while applying pressure with your thumb from the rear. The floorplate will come off easily and the Pearce adapter should slide on with no trouble. I have them on all the 10-rounders I have for my Glock 26.
