I have been searching for a new carry pistoil. I carry 24/7 as a retired LEO. Concelament is important but so is an effective pistol. I have always carried .45s but now I am gettiung lazy and have decided to change to 9mm.

I decided tyo do the research on line and read about a gazillion reviews. I finally settled on two that I realy wanted to try so I bought a FNH FNP 9 in black steel and I have ordered a Beretta PX4 Storm compact also in 9mm.

I have had the FN since last Friday and here are my first impressions.

Holy smokes, this is some fine handgun! Easy to concelaon a belt holster as it has gotten cool enough here in northern Illinois to wear a jacket. Holds 16+1 so to me, being used to a 1911, this is like an all day gun. Really light weight and comes with two backstraps, one rounded and the other flat. It arrived with the rounded back strap whuich felt all right but nothing special. I decided to try the flat stap and WOW! whaty a difference, it's just like a 1911. My hands fits perfect for it.

So, today was eange day and I blew through a box of wally world winchester white box. First, no FTF to FTE, just kept loading and ejecting. I did some slow fire at 15 yards just to see where it woulkd print. The first round was a solid ten ring and the second was touching it. I thought, wow, lucky shot and then I did it again!

Now I am not the world's greatest pistol shot. I can keep them in pretty close at 7, 10 and 15 yards but if any of them are touching, it's normally a fluke. But not with this gun. I absolutely could not believe it so I rehung a total of four targets and other than one or two called fliers, I ket every single round within three inches.

I am love with this pistol.

The Beretta should be at my dealer by the end of the week and as soon as I fire it, I'll post a note. Bet I take this one with me to the range though just to see if I can do it again.

When the cute TV reporter asked the Texas Ranger why he shot the bank robber six times with his .45, he replied, ""cause they don't make a .50"
