I want to be real careful not to violate the TOS for solicitation so I apologize for not being real specific.

Basically, the company I work for is launching a new product line of vehicle specific, lockable organizers to carry gear in such as your handgun, flashlight, extra magazine, etc and keep them safe yet accessible. They need a few guys who have a 2004 - 2008 F-150 with the floor console to do some initial product testing, reviews, feedback, etc before the product launches. Its your chance to be in on the final design of the product before it hits the market.

I volunteered to pass this information on since I know this is such a good group of people that would be perfect for the testing they're wanting to do. If anyone has that model truck with the floor center console and would potentially be interested, please contact me or let me know on this thread and I'll get you more information.

I've been a contributing($) member here for quite a while and some of the older members will recognize me, although I've been out of country and therefor not real active for the past 6 months, but I don't want this to come off as some kind of scam. The company I work for is the real deal, we do business with the Detroit Auto Makers, large big-box companies, etc.

the trouble in this line of thinking is that it sets precident for actual spammers.

please note that while member donations are certainly appreciated, they have no bearing on TOS application otherwise we would have people send in $20 expecting to be able to advertise.

i do not consider this post a TOS violation but it does enter into a grey area that the mods and i are discussing because while it doesnt advertise a product it does indirectly solicit emailing you for more product information.

please note i do not question your intent at all; we're just always looking for loop-holes in the TOS so actually thanks to you for helping us find one.

Nathan,

I'm really trying to follow your TOS and actually e-mailed you a couple of times requesting permission but didn't hear back from you. I think last time I tried to e-mail you, my e-mails hit your junk folder so I figured that's what happened again.

If you need to modify my original post in any way, please feel free to do so. My goals were:

1. Establish that I'm not soliciting
2. Establish credibility that this isn't a scam.

The company I work for is not charging for the product to be tested. We are giving the testers an option of keeping the product (common in the industry) at a drastically reduced price IF THEY CHOOSE TO. If they don't choose to keep it, we even pay for the return shipping.

Again, I don't want to do anything to cross the line so whatever you need to do is fine with me. This just could be a cool opportunity for some folks.

indeed sir, as written i dont have a problem at all with it espcially considering your history of contribution here. as said (and i guess i said it poorly) we simply will use it as an opportunity to clarify the TOS. if the same post came from a newbie for example, it would have been removed immediately. we're just using it as an opportunity to improve our TOS.

Tom,

I realize this is for an F-150, but if your ever develop anything for an F-250, I have a 2004 that would be a good test bed.

Sarge,

Does yours have the floor mounted center console or the arm-rest type? We're trying to figure out which of those models is more popular.

Mine has the armrest compartment that doubles as a middle seat. My buddy has a 2002 F250 with the center console. So, that's one vote each!

I have an '07 F-150 but it has the folding arm rest/console as it has a full bench seat. I would be happy to test this out if my truck fits the criteria.
How do I go about getting involved?

Sorry man, we are only testing for the floor mounted center console right now. If you will send me your contact information by e-mail, I will let you know when we are looking at the arm rest version...which will be very soon.

Tsmmith, would an 03 F150 supercrew with center console fit the bill? I tried to email but I haven't been a member long enough.
Thanks, Danny

I have a 99 F-150 with a center consol on the floor...It is between the driver and passanger and is not a seat. I would be interested. I have a master's degree in Educational Administration and have done reviews of hunting equipment as well.

'07 Toyota Tundra Crew Max with center console if you come up with something for it. I have been looking for some sort of lockable console to replace the factory one.

We sent all the F-150 test pieces out that we planned but we ended up with one extra piece. If anyone wants it for the '04 - '08 F-150 let me know and I can swing virtually the same deal since its considered an extra piece. Just shoot me an e-mail and I'll hook you up with one.
