OK, I'm stoked, I walked into the local gun shop where I got my PPS last year, still debating whether to put a down payment on a G23 or an M&P 40c. had them take out the M&P again, loved it, was going for closer to $600. Asked to see the G23 in the case and he tells me they just got the new RTF models in, G19 and G23, I hadn't even heard they were being released already.
Well I held it, they cost the same as the other Glocks, $499, so I pulled out my squirreled away cash (money I won at Casino when in NH helped) and had $540 bucks.
G23 RTF +tax/etc, $535 and change. Whoo hoo!
I know we've seen a billion pics of G23's, but since this is the new RTF model, I'll gladly take some shots with the wife's new camera tonight if anyone's interested.
Going to try and get to the range Saturday and break her in proper!
Now to get a new holster... lol |

lol! thanks, Nathan. yeah last year when I joined and bought my PPS, it was between the G23 (after reading so many rave reviews here and your carry guide 10x, hehe) and the PPS. As it was going to be my only option for a long while and I had the money for it (had just sold house) I went for the thinner PPS.
Now with the G23 I can do some tactical training locally I havent been able to do due to not having the required round capacity for the courses with my PPS.
Yeah, I'm excited. :) |

RTF - I looked at photos on the internet - are the only differences the bumpy frame grip and the deeper half moon shaped cocking serations? Guts the same? Sights look to be the same.
Too bad that the front strap still has "finger groves".

the finger grooves on the full sized RTF frames are less pronounced when you actually hold it. id like to hear about the compacts.

A Glock 23? I hear its a pretty decent gun, but is it reliable? Pics please. I didn't know Glock had released the RTF in the 23/19 format.
don't know if these 31 rounders are any good at Botach Tactical, but for the price, you might give em a shot....

33 rounds!? But, it's plastic! Sure it'll shoot that many without jamming, or melting? |

Sorry, in my excitement yesterday I forgot I had to go straight to a bro-in-law's birthday dinner from work and got back to late. Just got my son to bed and I'm setting up to take some now. |

| I had no clue that they had released the new RTF for the 19/23. That must be my hint that I need to buy ANOTHER Glock. |

The strangest thing happened. I went to open a box of HST to fill the mags with, and I dropped them and they fell in the most peculiar pattern. I gotta say, I think G23 and I were meant to be...

Right side:

Left Angle:

Trying to get the front stippling on trigger guard/grip. Focus is totally off what I wanted, sowwy:

I apologize for the pics, actually. It was my first time using the wife's new SLR and I was completely and utterly unfamiliar with the controls/option. She was dead asleep and I couldn't get any questions to register, lol. |

| Those slide serrations are definitely different from the 3rd gen. I don't know if I like them, but it's a Glock so what does it matter. |

i agree that i dont like the way they LOOK. but then again i think glocks are aesthetically ugly anyways so whatever.
when i first saw the pics of the RTF models and those "fish-gill" slide serrations i was worried that they would not provide a very good grip. when i actually held one and racked it i was pleasantly surprised.
still if i could get a RTF frame for my slide i think i would be happiest.
Eric: looks fantastic! i am a big fan of the RTF grip! |
