| Ok, so I grew a little impatient. I traded in the Taurus for the SR9c. I'll let you know if it was a good decision after my next tip to the range... |

| You won't be disappointed...I had one..the only reason I got rid of it was that I got my HK P7...it was very accurate...and easy to carry.... |

| What can I say but very disappointed. Took it to the range and about 8 shots in, a misfire. The firing pin was hitting the primer, but nothing. Ran about 30 more rounds and it happened 4 times. Thought at first it was the ammo (was using Winchester 115gr fmj), but went back to the range today with new ammo. Same thing. There was a training officer there working with a group of security guards and he looked at it. Took the rounds that didn't fire, put them back in mag and fired. 1 out of the 3 fired. Took the two out and put them in his Glock and they fired fine. Off to the repair shop. Thinking about a Glock now...... |

+1 I can honestly say that my Glocks have not let me down. Any of them, and I own 4.

| sorry to hear about your ruger. im surprised it was a failure since they so blatently ripped off the glock design. if it is a carry 9mm you are seeking, try on a g19. awful tough to beat! |

Got to play with a SR9C for the first time today at my local gun store. Have to admit, it looks and feels like a pretty decent carry gun. Very nice stainless slide with pretty good three dot sights. Trigger is "Glock" like but does not have the same feel as a Glock trigger. Trigger breaks rather mushy and felt like somewhere between a Glock and an XD trigger. Pistol really, really feels good in the hand....similar to an M&P Compact. Grip angle is perfect.
The best thing about the SRC9.....its freaking thin. Much thinner than a Glock, XD, or an M&P. Almost approaching Walther PPS thin, but not quite. That would be pretty impossible with a double stack mag. Would I buy one? I'd spend the extra bucks and get an M&P 9mm Compact. Same feel. Proven design. |

| Several friends have them--had to send back for the recall, but Ruger turned them around in a week. They both love theirs. I've handled but not shot the pistol. Sounds like a weak firing pin spring (or whatever you call the striker setup), perhaps. Ruger will make it right, but sorry for your problems. Nice thin gun for carry, but so is the Hi-Power, so never really interested in the style. |

I have to ask...did you clean and lube it before you shot it? If not..try that...a friend of mine bought one, did the normal...Im so happy I cant wait to fire it and it failed....after a good cleaning and oil, (like you should anyway with a new toy) it was flawless....

Only know one person that has one, his cycles and fires reliably but he told me that he was not so impressed with the accuracy. He shot my M&P 9mm FS and was thrilled with both the accuracy and the feel. His hands are huge and the large backstrap fits him perfectly. Don't think the SR9 will be around much longer. Randy |

| First off I would like to say that ruger is a great company. As far as the sr9c goes it does have a very weak firing pin spring. I recently purchased one brand new and noticed that it misfires on all types of ammo. I have a glock 19 and it will shoot the misfires fine. I called ruger in Arizona and they sent me a shipping label to return the gun. Atleast Ruger pays to ship the gun back and you really can not beat that. Hopefully they can fix the problem because I love the gun but for now Im going to stick with the glock 19 but if the ruger proves itself reliable after repairs I will carry the sr9c because I like the safety features. I will post again to let everyone know if they have a fix for the problem. |

| Ruger is a good company and I love my model 77. But a new firearm that won't fire just blows me away !! Did Ruger not shoot these before making a whole bunch of 'em ? |

I sent the ruger out for repair to the plant in Arizona in the prepaid package. The gun was returned within five days and I have not had a problem since. The striker assembly was replaced I pounded 200 rounds without cleaning and had no problems. Glock might be the most reliable but ruger is a customer friendly company and I would buy any product they make because they clearly back it up 100% |

If Ruger sells you a dud, they fix for it free and have it back to you in 5 days and its good to go.
If Taurus sells you a dud, they fix it for free and have it back to you in 5 weeks (if you are lucky)and it still might have the same problems.
IIRC, Ruger actually implemented a recall on these guns for the firing spring issue. In other words, they became aware of the issue and proactively corrected it instead of just "hoping" that most of the guns would work properly. |

I had a P95 that shot everything, and passed any endurance test. Accuracy was acceptable. Ruger seems to be having trouble with the SR9 series. They had a recall with the full size due to a firing pin block failure.
I remember articles with S&W having initial issues with the Sigma series. They have good reviews now, but I still won't go near one. That's why I was skeptical with the M&P. Seems S&W went over the top with that one! Got everything perfect, and set a new bar.
I guess the Ruger P series is still the way to go. |

My friend John, traded his SR9 for an M&P 9mm Full Size after he shot mine. He was putting one round after another on top of each other. He also enjoy the ergonomics of the M&P more so than his SR9. He hand HUGE hands and the large backstrap did the job for him. His comment on the range about the M&P 9mm was," Damn, this thing REALLY shoots well!!" Randy |

I would whole heartedly agree with you on the 6906 and its predecessors. One of the most under-rated guns available today! I use both a 6906 and a 3913 almost daily. Randy |

My girl just got the SR9c on Wednesday. Took it out back, loaded it, shot it and the problems started. We did have one misfire but, the main thing was a feed issue. The spent rounds were not clearing the chamber cause it to jam up. Happened under rapid firing and slow firing. Out of about 50rds it jammed up about 10 times. Ammo was Remington 115gr fmj target rounds.
Going to clean it and try again Saturday at the range. Anyone else have this issue.
I am confident that Ruger will make it right if this continues. I had a P90 years ago and it was a flawless gun. Just not great to carry. |

It being a brand new gun you can expect a break in period. I would be concerned if you were still having problems after 300-500 rds. |
