Hi Point 995. Wouldn't be my first choice for home defense or SHTF, but it's loads of fun to shoot and I paid less than $200 for it. The new models are out now, but I think they're a little more expensive.

The Hi Point semi-autos are not good choices, but they make a decent carbine. Lifetime warranty, no matter if you are the original owner or not. No questions asked.
Also comes in .40 S&W.
Welcome to the forum. It would be a good idea to introduce yourself over in the new members subforum so we can get to know you. |

Kel Tec sub 2000
Price around $ 350.00 if you get one get the Glock magazine model.
Highpoint makes a real cheap $ 250+= 9mm carbine. Ruguer males a camp 9MM also but now you in the $ 500.00 range. |

Kel Tec Sub2000. I got to shoot one of these off a couple of weeks ago. 9mm, uses Glock mags (say, 33 rounds), was easy to shoot and pretty darn accurate out to 40 yards with basic sights. And then you fold it in half and stick it in your bag. I was going to post a gunbroker link, but for $350, I may just buy it instead. It sort of fits the bill for what I've been looking for, although certainly not as cool as a .357/.38 lever action rifle.

| The biggest advantage I can see for the Keltec over the Hi-Point is that you can get it to use the same magazine as your favorite pistol (provided your favorite is Glock, Beretta or S&W). The Hi-Point uses its own proprietary magazines which, AFAIK are not even interchangeable with their own pistols. You might also want to look around for a Marlin Camp Rifle (they use S&W 5900 series magazines). I picked up a nice one about a year ago for less than $200. |

Well, I couldn't resist. I bought it last night. I had some mad money left over from vacation anyway, and the price was right. I read some good reviews (good reviews always have the good, the bad, and the ugly). I'll post my own reviews when I get it and work it up.
I already know at least three improvements I'll be making (fabricate a new aluminum trigger, trigger job, and maybe some sort of night sights). I had wanted a small light SD/HD rifle chambered in something I already shoot and 9mm works just fine since I have at least a couple thousand rounds scattered around the house. The bonus is I also picked up one 10, two 17, and one 33 round Glock factory mags with the rifle. With my other 9mm Glock mags, I'm in the neighborhood of 135 loaded rounds on my belt if the zombies arrive unannounced. And my G26 will be so happy with 8 inches of double stack ammo hanging out the bottom, although I always thought that looked pretty damn dumb. Now I'm thinking G26 full auto..... This doesn't mean, however, I'm out of the market for my lever rifle. It'll just have to wait till the next cycle of "Gun of The Month" club.
Pinkhamr, have you ever worked up a Kel Tec Sub2000? LOL. Not nearly as many possibilities as The 10/22, but...... |

I have a Sub 2000 that accepts Smith & Wesson 59 series mags and its a fun little carbine. Unfortunately, it will only accept FACTORY Smith & Wesson magazines, and none of the MecGar 20 and 30 rounders I have for my Smith & Wesson 910 will work in the Keltec.
I bought mine back in the zerO induced gun buying frenzy,(all they had and was thrilled to get it) and if I had it to do over, I'd definitely wait and try to get one that accepts Glock 9mm mags.
I carry my Sub 2000 in my vehicle in a laptop computer case.....cool how it folds up into such a small package. |

Olympic, Rock River, Bushmaster, Colt all make AR's in a 9MM platform. Here's one I used to own but it disappeared right after the election This would be my only choice for the caliber........

You could purchase a Beretta PX4 in 9mm then purchase the CX4 carbine. It uses the same mags as the handguns. Some of the LEOs in St Louis have these in their patrol units.

They have them online for $475 bare bones https://shopquestar.com/shopping65/shopexd.asp?id=1253&bc=no.
I just spoke to my GS and he said the 'just drop it in' is not really accurate advertising. He outfits each one to fit by Glock model. Also, the ATF is getting ready to ban these since they basically make your Glock an SBR.
He will sell to members here for $435. That price includes fitting for your Glock, an ambi sling attachment ($39.99 value) and a custom fitted Uncle Mikes bag shipped to your door.

| I have one of the new hi point 995ts that is a hoot to shoot. Wouldn't touch one of their handguns but this thing has been flawless for nearly 1000 rds. Accuracy is not bad but not amazing either. I can hit 16oz styrofoam coffee cups at 75yds with relative ease. Like others have said, not the best shtf weapon but if I had to use it, I wouldn't hesitate. |

Why would I want to sell it? My handguns all use the same magazines (Keltec P11, 6906, 5903). I put a new recoil buffer in it and have myself a great little rifle (did I mention that it came with a scope?).

| In their ad they say "ALL ATF rules apply" and ATF ruled it a short barreled rifle. If you get caught without the proper paper work I would think you'd get in trouble. |

They are legal to own now, on that I have no doubt. I have a SBR with a 10.5" barrel that the same gunsmith built for me. When he handed it to me prior to me receiving my stamp it had a six inch flash suppressor welded onto the barrel (see below). He would never put anyone at risk. The ATF is moving to stop the importation, not ban the ownership.

not sure any more the gun laws change so much and so fast. but the way i see to glock conversion thing. if you put the pistol in it you just made a un-regester sbr.
but you should be able to own the unit leagly as long as you dont put the pistol in it. no frame no gun. so unless you get it regester as a sbr to stay leagle you have a nice conversion unit that you cant use.
from my understnading you cant put a stock on a handgung except for a few C@R that have an exeption |

I spoke with my gunsmith and got some clarification. You can buy the Roni now, take it home, but once you place your Glock inside the Roni it is an SBR. You cant take your Glock out and carry it without violating any SBR laws since unlike similar units it is not married/pinned. He sold his last 10 and has 10 more coming from Israel next week, after that he will not be able to import them. So if you want one and you're willing to apply for an SBR stamp buy one fast before they are no longer available.
