The J frame is the ultimate pocket pistol IMO.

Have you looked at Kahrs yet? I haven't watched it yet, just saw it come up on my YouTube, but this guy has about an hour's worth of video on the P938 that may help you, including a Shield comparison.

Since it's above 90 and I'm in shorts, I switched to my 442 J frame today.

I own a P11 and have carried a PF9. I also own a 637-2 J frame and it really is the easiest pocket pistol to carry for me.

I respect the simple and inexpensive KelTec pistols. They really are very good for the money. I can hold an 8" group with my P11 at 20 feet with sights of my own makeup.

However, the Smith J frame is truly a great and comfortable little revolver that is an excellent choice for BUG or pocket carry. So given my choice, I would go with a J frame in this role.

Well the j frames ive seen so far a bit bigger and heavier that what im looking for, but i appreciate the advice. I have looked at some kahrs and shot my friends cw9 but i hated the trigger. I want to my lgs to see if they had a Sig p938 but they only had p238s so i handled one since the two are almost exactly identical except the 938 being a bit bigger which makes sense since its shooting a 9mm. think i might just have to save and wait they said they could get me a p938 for $629

My recommendation is an airweight J series Smith. I have a ss 60 and it's hardly a pocket gun, unless you have some good reinforcement on the stitching.

A pocket gun/BUG/sd piece is not going to be your range gun or plinker.

My FIL has a Diamondback.380 that appears to fit the bill perfectly on paper, but I'd go the Diamondback DB9 route (9mm) instead for obvious reasons.

Another revolver worth consideration is the Ruger LCR. Very light and pocketable. Not much to look at or fondle, but it is a Ruger.

Yes. Should be Airweight snubby J-frame. Alternatively, a Ruger LCR. Or even a Taurus UltraLite snubby.

An Airweight J frame 642 weighs 15 oz. A Kahr PM9 weighs 15.9 oz with the magazine. A loaded J frame will not be as heavy as a loaded Kahr.

I also recommend a Smith & Wesson J-frame. I carry a 442 in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. This is my BUG (back-up gun).

I regularly pocket carry my Kel Tec PF-9 and it disappears in most any pocket. J-frames are a good choice as well, however it is not as comfortable as the PF-9, IMHO.
