I headed down to my local gun shop yesterday to make a final decision on my AR15. You'll have to excuse my short detour here. I was initially getting the DPMS, however after feeling up...I mean examining the Colt M4 Carbine (LE6920) with MOE forend and stock, DPMS can kick rocks. Its a nice company, but after all the modifications I'll need to make, I might as well spend an extra $500 and get a Colt that already has most of those upgrades.
Anyway, after deciding on the AR, I thought I'd take a look at the Sig Sauer P226R, and so i headed out back and shot about 8 rounds which was 7 more than I needed to make the decision to retire Bertha (Glock 22 Gen 3, yes I named it.) My mind was blown after handling it, but I thought I'd head over to CCF and see what you guys thought.
Anyone who carries a P226? What holsters do you prefer?
Also, does anyone have any experience with the Colt LE6920? And finally, I've been wondering if gun shops typically have some sort of layaway plan or something similar? I love the Colt but won't have the funds until late August. Perhaps I should just go in and get the information and when it comes time, ask them to order it for me?

| I love both Glocks and Sigs! I don't think you could go wrong with either IMHO. You WILL regret getting rid of your Glock at some point in time. |

| Both excellent guns. My AR is a colt and its about as fine as they come. The SIG is a n awesome shooter and fits my hand very well. You'll enjoy them both. Look for for leather from Milt Sparks VM2 to the same offering from TTGunleather or something from Alessi. |

Got rid of my Glocks and never regretted a moment of it. The XDs are next and there will be no poly guns in this house. Debating on what to trade the three XDs in on as we speak...:) another TRP perhaps........

I've reached that same conclusion with my PPS's. Their random failure to feeds after 3000 or so rounds even with new springs is no bueno. Like their size but not their reliability and thats paramount. Wonder what I could get for the four of 'em? |

To be clear, I won't be getting rid of my Glock, but I probably will be taking it out of my regular carry rotation. Unfortunately I had to pawn my Glock 27 to pay for some bills, but I am getting it back in the next couple of months and it will be my primary carry piece. However the Sig fits my hand well and given the effectiveness of my Galco KingTuk, I'll probably be getting another one for the Sig. My Glock will probably sit in the safe.

I've had my Colt M4 since 2003 and used it for 3 Gun Tactical matches. Never had any problems with it over the course of nine years.

Hey guys, does anyone know anything about this gun that's been issued by the US military for about 18 years? I have a 226 - great pistol. I bought it used as a LEO trade-in. I have put roughly 5000 rounds through it and it shoots as well as the day I got it, which is really good.
But, unless you always have a jacket or coat on, how do you carry that thing without printing in capital letters?
If I could carry openly that would be on my hip constantly, but where I live, it has to stay completely hidden or a lot of time gets wasted talking to cops. |

I carry my Glock 22 in a Blackhawk SERPA most of the time and a simple unbuttoned button up shirt does a great job and typically I wear dark colors (Gray man). I'm built like a brick wall so that helps too lol. The P226 doesn't look much bigger, just a little thicker in the grip. |
