count me in as well........fantastic handgun in ALL regards. I regret that I am down to 4 of them. Should never have sold the 1943 all matching serial number FN P35 that had Nazi & SS markings on the trigger guard......a friend of mine offered me WAY more than I thought it was worth however.

| Without a second thought, as I do it 90% of the time. The finest personal defense weapon ever made, 100% reliable, most natural pointing pistol there is and 14 rounds of +P+ at your disposal. Aussie and Brit SAS, Israeli Commandos, numerous Federal Agencies' special ops, and many I know who go to dark places make it the gun of choice. Either my C series that I've had for over 40 years and carried in SEA, or my 75th Anniversary model. |

| I don't carry 9mm, although it is sufficient for self-defense with the right ammunition. I carry .45 ACP mostly, and .40 S&W and .38 S&W on occasion. |

I wouldn't have a problem carrying one, provided certain modifications were made to optimize it for carry, like removal of the magazine disconnect safety, a larger thumb safety, bobbed or rounded hammer and drop-free magazines.
But: with the cost of the gun, plus the cost of the modifications required to make it "carry ready", why not just buy a Glock 19?
Other than aesthetic, sentimental or other irrational reasons, what does the BHP offer beyond a single-action trigger?
And I say this as the owner of 2 Nazi-marked, FN-produced BHPs. Awesome guns, groundbreaking design, a true game-changer in the service pistol demographic, but the ends don't justify the means, not with so many other suitable guns available. |

A Browning Hi Power 9MM made in Belgium was my issue gun in the 1960's while serving in the military. & it never let me down NEVER. I wish that I would of bought one after I got out of the service but decided on the Beretta 92 SB instead which is a great gun for SD also. |

The new ones have large, ambi-safeties; removing the mag safety is a 5 minute job, and the originals have round hammers, an easy change on the new ones; the magazines have a spring that lets them drop free even without the mag safety removed. Glocks are Walmart pots. Hi-Powers are the finest cooking utensils made. Both work, but that's where it ends. Plus, every time I wear my 75th Anniversary with Esmeralda grips I get comment after comment on it. A Glock gets the same comments as if you were carrying a piece of roofing felt. |

I carried a T Series BHP for personal protection during much of the 1970's and felt very safe with it. The BHP is a classic, iconic sidearm.
Mine was super accurate and extremely reliable with ball ammo. At that time (try to wrap your head around this ski)the only jhp ammo in existence was made by a company called Norma IIRC. That was it. In 1973 almost no one made JHP ammo.
Basically, you either shot a Colt 1911 or Belgian BHP if you had some cash and wanted to shoot the best SA pistols available.

| I have a target Mark III and love it. A bit heavy for carry though but I still love the gun. |

Super-Vel made JHPs that I carried in my C series Hi-Power in SEA--which is still far and away my gun of choice, although the 75th Anv is close. Had to mod the mags a bit to feed them, but you certainly got the velocity from them. As I recall, they came only in 90g. |

Gunslinger,
The "roofing felt" comment really did make me laugh out loud!
A Glock is probably the best there is, but a 1911, BHP, or just Luger for that matter screams "style" and to some, that matters. |

| I have a 1941 Waffen SS Pistole 640(b) Hi-Power that I carried for a number of years and is still a "shooter". Stout and reliable. I'd bet my life on it. |

| I carried a Hi Power for about twelve years while managing gunstores---at the time, there was very little else out there---not like today. EVERYBODY should have at least one P35! |
