You face THIS guy, and caliber will matter, and considering the weapon he's carrying, so will placement. Headshot would be preferred.

I assume this weapon is fully automatic as the FBI speaker called it an "assault rifle" and not an "assault weapon." We can always expect Law Enforcement to both know proper terminology and to be 100% accurate at all times.

Care to provide a synopsis for those of us who can't view the video?

I assume you are not referring to George Zimmerman.

"When you signed on to carry that blaster, your world changed. This is about mindset, and regardless what certain groups may think, not every one should have a gun. Or a car. Or children. Or oxygen. It is not a part time thing. It is a commitment to a lifestyle and to a culture." - Pat Rogers

Link goes to a Zimmerman interview...

SKI - absolutely concur. Faced with this BG, I would only shoot if I was directly threatened, and then only as a last resort. Better to keep down under cover. His AK completely outguns my handgun every time.

It appears to be a Level III vest and not a 'plate carrier' which should stop most carry caliber and not incapacitate him. I'm of the mind if someone is not posing a threat to me or someone else, be a good witness and leave it to the police. This guys was out for money and not looking to hurt anyone unless they got in his way.

This raises a very interesting question. How many here are proficient enought to take him out, risk missing, getting an innoncent bystander or yourself killed??? For those of you thinking head shot, you may need to rethink your strategy and this is where caliber could come into play. The pelvic region is a much larger taget, contains large arteries and provides structure/stabilty for the body. If you were to unload rounds into the area it could drop him like an anvil and he'd bleed out very quickly (much faster than in the movies). The larger/heavier the rounds the more likelihood of fracturing bone, larger wound channels, etc.

It's better to have a gun on you and not need one, than to need one and not have one on you!

Head shots, let's call it central nervous system (CNS) shots greatly depend on the angle and orientation of the target. I am 100% confident in my marksmanship given time for the shot.

Just because I have the ability doesn't mean I will use it. Seek cover. It ain't my money.

Well , 100%? Why didn't you say so? Now that's a horse of a different color! Come on in! You're the next contestant on absolute internet bull math.

You're confidence might be 100%, but your capability isn't. Ever.
