My "Bump in the night" firearm is a Remington 870 shotgun, and it will always be.

Remington 870 as well. Pistols are just a means to getting to real guns.

My "bump in the night" setup:

"When you signed on to carry that blaster, your world changed. This is about mindset, and regardless what certain groups may think, not every one should have a gun. Or a car. Or children. Or oxygen. It is not a part time thing. It is a commitment to a lifestyle and to a culture." - Pat Rogers

H&K USP 40 S&W with TLR2 combo Laser, Light and blinding strobe.

13+1 should last me long enough to get to my Remington 1100 3" Mag with 00 buck, also mounted with a TLR2.

But only because my nightstand is a little small for the Rem..... :)

I go for the 98% one shot stopper. In other words my Winchester Defender 12GA.

Betwixt the Shepard at the door, the CZ on the nightstand, the AR in the closet and the safe one stroke from open at the foot of the bed... Im fine.

...even if you miss the BG, the SP101 will scare him off (and/or singe off his eyebrows). Those guns throw fireballs.

Back on topic, I have a G30-SF loaded with 230gr Golden Sabers. It also has night sights. Plus the spare mag next to it equals 20 rounds of GTFO of my house.

Lol Sliptap. It's my camp gun, so it's 4.2" barrel so hopefully no dragon's breath. It's also loaded with .38 +P what with living in town and all.

There is no practical close range man portable fight stopper like a 12ga shotgun loaded with 00 or 000 buckshot, unless it's a 12ga shotgun loaded with slugs.
