| CCW class coming Thursday. For the last week I have been renting and shooting every compact 9MM I can find. I have shot around 300 rounds. My best pattern with the thin 9MM is always with the Kahr. I want the least footprint. I feel best with the pinky on the gun. The CW fits perfectly. Then PM needs the extension for me to feel comfortable. Is the PM worth the extra money and would there be any accuracy difference using the extension on the PM. If not the PM could be almost a pocket gun without the extension. I expect to practice until I become somewhat proficient. |

I own a CW, although in .45. You cant go wrong with either. In my opinion you save a good deal of money by choosing the CW over the PM. The PM is a bit smaller and has a polyagonal rifled barrel and rounder edges on the slide. None of these things really justify the added expense.
Just my .02 |

| Re-shot the CM 9. Although I thought I needed my pinky finger on the gun I had no problem my best groping of shots today. I like the idea of using the CM9 for a pocket carry when I need to and I can add the extension mag. I was going to stretch out my wallet and get the PM but at this point I have read so many posts saying they both shoot the same that I am going to buy the CM 9 tomorrow. With the extra savings I can buy a safe, and a case of 9mm on sale for 10.90 a box, speed loader, pocket and in the waist holster. Then I can start thinking about those beautiful 1911's! |

differences between the CM9 and PM9: 1. PM9 has polyganol rifled barrel (Glock uses polyganol rifling)CM9 uses standard rifling. 2. Sights on PM9 are the same as the CM9 on the rear; front sight on a CM9 is pinned...PM9 is dovetailed. 3. PM9 has machined slide stop. CM9 is Metal Injection Molded 4. Slide on the PM9 has a little more contour and better engraving on the slide. CM9 is laser engraved and less machining is done on the slide. ...same goes for all the Kahr P Series vs CM/CW series pistols.
...at the distances you are going to be using your CM/PM9, I doubt you will be able to tell the difference in accuracy to warrant spending the extra $200 on the PM9. My CM9 is a pleasure to shoot, and plenty accurate for its intended purpose.
just not much to dislike about this little gun.

trial and error, my friend. after a few days of carrying you will have an idea of what works and what does not. |

I have the CW9 and love it. It is slightly larger than the PM9 (or the CM9 if you're interested in the PM9's cheaper, practically identical counterpart) but I have no problem concealing it in my Desantis sof-tuck under a t-shirt.
The differences between the P and CW/CM series are mostly cosmetic. The polygonal rifling won't really help in most defensive situations since the overwhelming majority of them happen at close range. Unless you have money just lying around, the extra $200 isn't really worth it. |

| I bought the CM 9 this morning. Figured out on my own yesterday I could buy the CM and purchase the 7 mag with the pinkie grip. I ordered two mags for 7 shop and I have the 6 shot that came with it. I felt with the 6 shot it would be a easy carry in my pocket when needed. Wish a salesman would have pointed this out a few weeks ago. Also bought a speed loader as my fingers are gone! |

| You did well, I think. I've had CW's In 9 and 45 and an MK9 and PM9. IMO,for what it's intended, the PM9 is not worth the extra jack. For some reason, I was least accurate with the CW9. A CM9 is in my future. |

| I shot everything I could get my hands on in four different ranges. I shot best and liked Kahr and Glock. Glock is way to big for my purposes. I was always shooting the Kahrs with a pinkie extension. Shot the CM 9 because I was told if I hold the gun correctly not having a pinkie extension would not be such a problem. My shooting pattern with the shorter CM was as good as the longer Kahrs. Now for the break in fun! |

I believe another difference between the P and CW series is the P comes with 2 mags. Not sure how much a Kahr mag costs, but if you want more than one the P starts to look a little better.
My CW9 has been great. I recommend a Hogue slip-on to make it feel perfect in your hand. |

You are right, 2 mags with the P. Do you pocket carry the CW? |

No, it's too big for my pocket. But it is the shortest in height of the single-stack pistols I've seen where I can still get a full grip. Haven't seen a CM yet but would like to check one out for pocket carry. |

My hand fits the same on the CM with the mag extension as it does with the CW. That is why I bought it over the CW so I could pocket carry with the mag that comes with it.
Ordered the Hogue Jr grip, Tommy T IWB and Fist pocket carry which has a thumb release. I ordered the leather because it is beautiful and I hope it is not to heavy for my pocket. |
