Re: New Glock model - G45

I gotcha. What about something like the XS sights? Of the two you posted I like the ameriglo. I’ve never used either but it looks like the ameriglo has a slightly biggger front dot.

The new trigger makes me nervous. I'm a big fan of if it isn't broke don't fix it.

Re: AR's with 7.5 & 10.5 inch barrels?

I’ve got a custom 300 blackout with an 11.5 inch barrel and it is an absolute blast to shoot. Don’t think I’d use it for a primary defensive weapon though. Like Nate said the short barrel just kills the velocity.

Re: Taming the .45-70

They used to give me opiates for it and they made a night and day difference, but since the crackdown they don't want to prescribe them anymore. To get them now I feel like I have to beg so I don't even bother. I've heard the same though in regards to herbal treatments, and that's where I'll leave ...

Cortisone and yeah they also warned me about too many injections. But when I get an injection it doesn't even last two weeks before it hurts again. That was the entire problem was that they don't last long enough to make it worth the trouble. I’ve got some bad news then. They are going to give you ...

Re: Taming the .45-70

I find myself just shooting smaller rounds like the 243 more and more. I'm in a similar situation. To make the .45-70 even more brutal, I'm having a rotator cuff issue again. I had the surgery twenty five years ago and they don't think operating again is the best option. They want to give me the in...

I don’t think filling the stock would be a great idea as that would throw the balance of the rifle off. Especially for you Nate. We know this will be a working rifle not a safe queen, so I think the balance will be very important. I’m facing the same issues as my rheumatoid arthritis get worse even ...

I will 2nd the crossbreed. My G23 is resting in it as we speak and it’s pretty much all I carry in no matter the gun. However I haven’t use the king tuk but I trust Nate enough to know that the king tuk will probably serve you just as well.

Re: Rangefinder recommendations?

I have that one. It works ok as long as you have a clear line of sight. Small branches and leafs give it fits. It does ok past 300 as long as you have a reflective object to range, trees, animals ect good luck getting it to range those past 300.

Re: MORE problems for the Army's Sig 320

The sad thing is, after all their rigorous tests and trials, the army probably would have gotten better results by just sending some private into a gun store and having him ask "what's the best handgun you have"? No No No. A private would have came back married to a stripper with 3 kids, ...

Re: 224 Valkyrie.

The AR 10 is a very capable long range rig. The M110 I had in Afghanistan was basically a supped up AR10 in 7.62x51. I’ve shot my M&P 10 out to 1000 with good results. I prefer my bolt guns for long range but it would be nice to add another option to the safe. I was looking at the savage MSR in ...

Any thoughts on this new round? At first I thought it would be another fad AR round. The more I read about it the more I think I might have to get one. Supposedly stays supper sonic to 1300 yards and with less felt recoil of the 6.5 creedmoor. I’m not recoil sensitive by any means but the worse my a...

That's odd; I never heard of that before. I understand why so many companies won't ship to California and places like that with restrictions, but Alabama? What part of Alabama anyway? I went to Basic Training at McClellan. In 1986, Anniston was still partially segregated. I remember it was harder t...

No idea but they never have. If you look where you enter the shipping address you won’t find Alabama in the drop down menu for state. It’s weird since I’m pretty sure they are located in Mississippi.

See I’m the opposite. I would prefer a 17 slide on an 19 frame. The xd’s are the only platform I know of with this set up. If the triggers weren’t so mushy, the xds being the exception, I’d grab one.
