One of the extremely rare advantages of having small hands is that I don't need a mag extension for guns like the Glock 26. I only need them for the absolutely smallest guns, like a Kahr PM9

Re: I give up; Glock 19 for me.

I prefer to go smaller: Springfield XD9 subcompact or XDS. If I carried a glock, it would probably be a 26 or 43. While the 19 is sufficient for CCW (indeed, one would be hard pressed to find any gun that serves dual roles of open uniformed carry and CCW as well as the 19), I'd prefer to sacrifice a...

Another bank robbery/guard shooting video

Real impressed with the guard in this. He had almost no time to react, but still got into the fight quick enough to win. Also he did an excellent job clearing a malfunction and getting his gun back in the fight.

Re: CCW shooting officer's attacker video

I'm partial to ammo standardization myself. The first pistol I ever bought was in 9mm. Ever since then, I've tried to get all others in 9mm as well. It's very convenient to be able to supply most of your guns with the same ammo.

Dumbass gets killed assaulting CCW holder with a drawn weapon

This is a 2015 incident, but too funny to avoid posting now. Seriously, how dumb do you have to be to assault a person with a drawn gun when you are unarmed? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXhfJ4LNgIs This also shows the value of security cameras. This guy might have been in serious legal trouble f...

Re: CCW shooting officer's attacker video

I've found cases where a .45 had similar results to what we saw in this case. There is no magic bullet that will always result in a one-shot stop. Seems like the guy did everything right except dropping the gun right next to a bystander after the attack. Better to re-holster (assuming he had a holst...

Guns are the Onion's glaring weak-spot. On every other issue they are an equal opportunity offender, but when it comes to guns they only attack supporters of gun rights.

Re: 3 home invaders down

There seemed to be some question initially if the boy went overboard shooting the three. But last I read, they were dressed in all black, had masks on, one with a knife and one with brass knuckles, busting a glass door to enter a home. A reasonable homeowner would be in fear of his life, ya think? ...

It's pretty rare in the annuals of history of ever find a case of one person killing 3 or more people in self defense.

A lot of the people in those videos were cops, not private guards, but yes Brazil has no shortage of those videos

Here's an interesting one on the proper use of non-lethal force by a guard, and it comes from America

Re: Security guard thwarts a bank robbery

Like most professions, private security runs the gamut from extremely incompetent morons to some of the toughest and most capable people you'll meet....On the other hand you occasionally find people of extraordinary quality who do security work because they don't fit into most other occupations wel...

Re: Security guard thwarts a bank robbery

This shows too a lack of deterrence from a uniform. Uzi at the ready, as I recently saw in Frankfurt seems the way to roll. Lol I think in this case, the robber was hoping to score himself a free gun in addition to the cash from the bank. That's one of the risks of open carry, and why we still see ...

Re: Security guard thwarts a bank robbery

Some of the most violent videos I see come out of Brazil, and some of the best police work I've seen does, also. That must be a real shit-hole over there? Brazil has the 15th highest murder rate among all nations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate This gua...

Security guard thwarts a bank robbery

Man talk about brazen. The robbers here are not deterred by either the security door nor the visible presence of an armed guard. The ensuing events show why they should have been.

http://www.springfield-armory.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/PI9208L_Featured.png The Springfield EMP is the most reliable small 1911ish gun I've found, but you won't touch one in your price range unless you can find a used one but even then it's 9mm or .40. This one seems the most appealing. And I...

Re: Condition 0 carry

Is carrying a cocked and unlocked 1911 really any different than carrying an XD with a round in the chamber? No. But I would rather carry a P38 than an XD if I had the choice. XDs are great for a lot of reasons, but the margin of error is too low in my opinion. Does this mean you would not carry a ...

The best 1911

A common custom for me is to buy a new gun after I get my tax returns back. And seeing as it's about that time and I don't own any 1911s, I was thinking about getting one this year So I'm wondering, what is the best 1911 that meets the following requirements? - Costs less then 1200 dollars - Has an ...

Armed Pizza deliveryman survives an ambush robbery

As far as tactical situations go, you don't get much worse then having a gun pointed at you inches from your face while your arms are full of pizzas and your gun is in your holster. I give this guy all the credit in the world for surviving and being able to shoot back despite being hit. Hopefully hi...

Re: Two bystanders intervene in robbery, one armed and one not

You seriously need to consider no longer reading and watching CNN. Just another example of how biased they are. They call the civilian without a gun who intervened and got killed as "being hailed a good Samaritan", and then showed his picture. The CCW holder who actually stopped the incid...
