Re: Bought the wife a new truck!

Smooth over no, make it un-noticable I would think so. The texture is rough and without being able to see a reflection or glare it would have to be a bad dent for you to tell it. I don't know if there's anything other than traditional body work that they could do. How bad off a dent? We rarely get h...

Re: Bought the wife a new truck!

Thanks guys! So it cost me $4200 for the Linex, a repaint the same color was $3500+. Yeah they did the door jambs, I completely disassembled the truck. Bumpers, door panels, weather striping, lights, even had to loosen the bed so they could pick it up and pull it back a couple feet to paint between ...

Re: Thread Split - Usefulness of Night Sights

So I'd like to share my personal experience on this. I do have 20/20 vision so you do have a unique situation that I couldn't possibly comment on. Upon arriving home one night we saw a predator along my front fence line. Of course I charged out pistol drawn well within 25 yards of the target and to ...

Re: Bought the wife a new truck!

The pics don't do it justice, it's alot bigger and wider in person. It's so wide it wouldn't fit on the alignment rack at the Ford dealer. So the problem with bigger tires on a dually is you have to watch 2 things. The inner tire can rub the spring pack, and you don't want the tires to touch in the ...

Re: Bought the wife a new truck!

We have a 35 ft camper we pull with it now. :D So the full list of things we did to it goes something like this. .... Re: Bought the wife a new truck!

Thanks, but you ain't seen the rest yet! So we had to do something about the paint. After pricing out full paint jobs, we stumbled on full Linex paint jobs. It cost the same as a normal paint job, no more scratches, more dent resistant, her favorite color, and it doesn't show dirt so bad. So we had ...

Bought the wife a new truck!

So I finally gave in to her wanting a lifted truck, so we sold her 2007 Ram 2500 4x4 5.9 and bought her this 2005 Ram 3500 4x4 5.9 with 48k on it! This is how it looked when we bought it, we were doing mock up at the time. The worst thing about it was the paint, it showed is age. Clear coat failing,...

Re: 458 Socom optic

I have a Burris Fast Fire 2 on my home defense rifle, I love it. I can shoot 4 legged intruders at 100 yards. You can shoot it both eyes open. It happens to be the primary optic on that rifle so no awkward looking over the top of a scope. I have hit clays with it, flung by my shotgun popper. Very fa...

I do wish we didn't have go thru a 3rd party to host our pics. I understand it probably takes lots of space on that server. Re: 1874 Sharps

2k is alot for that, my father in law bought a 1885 Uberti high wall falling block rifle in .45-70 I think he gave $800 for it. It looks awesome, but it'll rattle your teeth if you shoot it off sand bags. It's not quite so bad free hand cause it pushes you around more. It's fairly heavy, and it look...

I love the case hardened color, just never been a fan of the black plastic grips. I prefer the patina of a worn bone or wood grip.

Re: Boresights

I've had folks at my place to sight in rifles that had bore sighted rifles, and I waste less rounds than that crowd without one. They want to start at 100 yards and keep cranking on the scope cause it's not on the paper until out of frustration they start pulling in the target until they hit my 25 y...

Re: Seeking rifle recommendations

So I bought a CZ 550 AMERICAN in .270 last year and I have been extremely pleased with it. It holds .5 MOA at 300 yards! I haven't had chance to paper it further than that but needles to say I am reliable with it to 350. I'll not shoot any deer further than that until I have had chance to map the tr...

We've gone to that really twice now but still didn't go to Uwharrie. The farm park has a no atv rule so this year we didn't even take it. Some of the guys with Humvee's did go to Uwharrie, but for us with the big trucks all we can ride is the maintenance gravel roads. So none of us went.
