Re: Unloading shipping container?

I wish I had seen this earlier. You will do fine with the jacks, with a few considerations. I understand that the purpose of this is to rig the container for camping and easily remove it from your trailer to use the trailer for other trips, correct? I have accomplished this exact task, unloading a c...

What brand trailer are you looking at? http://s8.postimg.org/9yr58pked/image.jpg I've never towed a trailer this long before and I think I nearly took out several cars while turning just to get it from the dealership to my house. :D I won't even get into what it took to back this fucker into my bac...

Re: Carry options and aging

I wonder if their is a market in an OWB holster that is disguised as something like a tool pouch for the lower parts that stick out from a short jacket. Nathan had a good write-up on something he used called Safepacker. Unfortunately the link is now lost in cyberspace, but I'm sure something on it ...

Damn right. In my experience, many, many of the older generation have gotten tired of being targeted by everyone from the common street thug to the auto service center that pads the bill with unnecessary services that they never completed.

Re: My new pizza shop

Wait a minute...didn't they fire a male employee for drawing a gun on a robber last year? Is this a policy reversal for Papa Johns, or is this because she was female? It seems that this was the decision of the individual franchise owner. Probably, as others have suggested, just didn't want / couldn...

I agree completely... this man has made his living off of movies that portray people using guns to save others and / or defend themselves. Anything for a buck I guess.

Roll Down Security Door / Cover / ?

About 10 years ago I had a neighbor that lived across the street from me. He traveled a lot with his job and wanted to keep his house secure when he left. He had these roll down steel shutters / covers / doors, I don't know what you call them, but the effectively blocked every door and window in his...

Re: How to deal with 'Road Rage'

Another thing that I have found to cause an undesired effect is a large, air powered, train horn under ones hood. After the people piss themselves, they become quite angry. My neighbors kid found that out the hard way when another high school kid slashed his tires after such an incident.

There have been a lot of Deer in Oregon this year as well. I have seen more than one truck get outfitted with a "bambie basher" reminiscent of something you would find on Nathan's truck in Montana.

Re: AR build suggestions

I've always said that the "ultimate" combat rifle would be an AR chambered in 7.62x39, but nobody could make a magazine that feeds reliably. If they now make an AR that accepts AK magazines, I might have to revisit that. http://www.cmmginc.com/category_s/1998.htm hickcock45 just did a rea...

There are worse things...

A father passing by his son's bedroom, was astonished to see the bed was nicely made, and everything was picked up. Then, he saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow. It was addressed, "Dad." With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter, with tremblin...

I guess we are all "new" now.

I live in Oregon. I'm a member. I miss my post count. I forget what it was, but I know it was in the 500-600 neighborhood. Most of that was being a mall ninja, troll, jerkwad, know-it-all.

Oh, wait, that was under my other name, Gecko45. Do I have to re-register that name too?

Did you ever find anything as good as the J Frame?

Re: Another attack by man wielding a knife

Back in North Carolina, it was often that some crazy gang banger's girl would be on the news threatening the police. "Bitch, I'll cut you!" was a common phrase. Of course, after they were arrested for it, it instantly became a racial thing and their story became all about how they were arr...

Re: How to deal with 'Road Rage'

I choose to just move on to another road. No delay is worth the delay of having to shoot someone attacking me in my vehicle. If I'm not in proximity to that person any longer, it's hard for them to attack me in the first place.

I have been noticing that more and more people are looking at police service the same as any other government function. It is just another hoop to jump through for the powers that be. Nobody I know has ANY expectation that the police will accomplish anything regarding the commission of a crime. Peop...
