Could have been me at an IDPA match. I've slain a whole bunch of cardboard hostages.

Re: Off duty officer is not armed during Vegas shooting

Also worth thinking about the wisdom of carrying when out drinking. I like to be sober when I shoot.

Re: Weak side carry

My sympathies. I had a surgeon ready to cut but who recommended a little time with a physical therapist. 10 years later my shoulder is about 90% of capability with no surgery. I suggest (if you haven't already) find a good PT and put follow instructions. Good luck.

Re: Cowboy loads and cover

How about this: concealment isn't as good as cover but it's better than standing out in the open to reload. Makes it a little harder for the bad guy to put a round on target.

And I'd rather take a round after it's gone through a table top than before.

I guess if you're shaking a lot, that's a good time for the gun to go off. They should charge extra.

Re: The perfect carry gun

I'm wondering how hard it would be to start with a G17 frame, cut it down on the front to accommodate a G19 barrel and slide.

Re: Navy replacing Sigs with Glocks

What surprises me is the G19 instead of the G17. Distance between forward sight and rear sight really helps accuracy, at least for me and most mortals. G19 better for concealed carry, but I would think that a Seal would be better off with the 17.

Re: A lefty needs a good shoulder holster

you might check out Ted Blocker http://www.tedblockerholsters.com/ . I visited their shop and saw models of every model gun they make holsters for. They press the leather to fit the gun model. At other companies, I think they have a list a specific guns but in the background they are saying, that's ...

Re: Holster Help

I visited http://www.tedblockerholsters.com/ and saw how they make holsters for a particular model. They have plastic models of all the popular guns; they soak leather and mold them to fit the particular gun. I looked at their rack of blue plastic guns, and they must have had a hundred or more. As I...

The 911 operator sure sounded like a union employer. Not supportive, not sympathetic. Just neutral, "OK," "OK." You could imagine her playing solitaire during the call.

Re: Range Bag

I have multiple bags, mostly canvas brief cases that I've been given at different conferences. One bag is general: earmuffs, safety glasses, lula loader, etc. Then I have a bag for each gun, which contains magazines and holsters specific to that gun. When heading out, I add ammo and the gun itself t...

Here in Oregon, a class need only cover gun safety to satisfy the legal requirements. My class basically covered the four rules, plus some additional informati...

Re: Where to get info on legality of self defense

Gunny, First, I suggest that you actually read the law yourself. I don't know about Florida, but my state's law is reasonably clear. You'll want to read the law on carrying; and the law on use of force in self defense is probably in a different place. Second, there are compilations of gun laws that ...
