Hey Artman, where in KY are you from? I'm in Perry county.

Re: Powder Choice for 9mm?

Like you, I wanted to do something out of the norm. I've been playing around with (and worked up to) 4.3 grains of Accurate #2 behind some 115gr plated bullets. So far, I like it. The wife and I shot over 100 rounds yesterday evening out of my Sig P229 and we both agreed it was a pleasant and accura...

Re: Sig malfunction

How strange is this: On a whim this afternoon, I decided to drag out the Sig P229 I bought two or three years ago and tossed into the back of my safe and shoot it for the first time. LOL! The wife LOVED the single action trigger on it (so much so, she told me I just "lost this one" and tha...

Anybody seen this thing?

My local gun shop is advertising this:

http://www.heizerdefense.com/par1-silver.html

Why in the world would anybody want that thing?

Re: Snubby revolvers sure do kick

Ohio, do you reload? Maybe you should. I always try to keep some practice loads on hand that are somewhat lighter than full bore factory rounds. I've found that my wife really likes to use them for practice so she can "work up" to full factory loads. Practice sessions for her usually start...

Thinking about leaving ADT

Currently, I have an ADT alarm system in my house with a cellular dialer. I had to go with the cellular setup when I switched my phone service from our local provider to VOIP (voice over IP) with a company called Phone Power. We have been fairly happy with the VOIP phones and have had them now aroun...

Re: Need a good ankle holster for a Ruger LCRx

I tried an ankle holster ONCE. That's all it took for me. Back then I was a lot skinnier and much more flexible than I am now and even with that I wasn't able to draw the thing worth a crap. Plus, the weight of the gun just made me walk funny. All the training in the world wasn't going to make me pr...

Re: pocket carry choices

It's not the price with the Sig that drags it down to spot #2 on my list. It's more the fact that because I used to carry a J frame and my wife still does, we already have tons of holsters, speed loaders and other associated junk to go with them. I stepped out of the box with the LC9. I probably sho...

Re: pocket carry choices

Unfortunately, I can't wear man pants to work. LOL! Work dictates that I wear, at a minimum, khakis and a button up shirt. Pocket carry is literally the only option I have. I carried a S&W 638 for years in my right front pocket. Eventually, it started looking like I had tied it to a chain and dr...

I've got the itch it seems . . . .

I need some advice folks. Right now, my EDC gun is a Ruger LC9. I have carried it daily now for over 2 years. I haven't shot it nearly as much as I should have and, frankly, I hate it. The trigger is seven kinds of HORRIBLE. It attracts lint and dirt in my pocket like some sort of weird magnet (henc...

Re: EDC Light

I have carried a Fenix E05 every day now for at least two years. It looks like crap from constantly grinding against all the other stuff in my pocket but it has never failed me - and I use it a LOT. If it ever dies, I'll buy another identical one that same day. Excellent light. Highly recommended.

Re: I'm a bad gun owner . . . .

I use (and highly recommend) a Robert Mika pocket holster. I would never pocket carry without a holster of some kind.

My wife swears she's going to start buying Hoppes instead of whatever perfume it is she wears. She just gets me . . . .:)

I'm a bad gun owner . . . .

I admit it, I'm a bad gun owner. 60+ hour work weeks are just wrecking my life. Throw in all the church activities I am a part of (and there are a lot - just left a 4.5 hour elder meeting this afternoon), going to the niece's ball games every week and attempting to actually get a decent nights sleep...

Re: Skinny Guy CC recomendations

I am far from skinny but, like you, I have to wear a button down shirt and dress pants every day - on rare occasions a sport jacket. I have basically given up on any other carry method besides carrying in my right front pocket in a Robert Mika holster. Right now, I'm carrying a Ruger LC9 but that ma...
