Re: Rangefinder recommendations?

Didn't see that it had the built in inclinometer for calculating horizontal distance, in addition to point to point. Usually, horizontal is what counts for trajectory except for the longer time in flight at steep angles. Another feature I like in my rangefinder is the ability to continously update t...

Re: Magnification range for yardage?

Old thread, but 4x power for shooting 200 yards is PLENTY IMO. Now, if you don't use binocs for sizing up the antlers, judging WHETHER you want the animal or to verify if legal then higher power would be useful. For some reason adjustable scopes set at higher than 5x power sacrifice just enough eye ...

Re: Milled Slide for DPP Optic

Cajun Gun Works "10x barrel bushing", 11deg crown, short reach trigger, CGW race hammer, new springs, pins, polishing job, etc. Grips are cool hand G10, fairly aggressive texture and thinner than stock grips. I kept the FPB in place but the associated takeup travel doesn't bother me. No ov...

Re: What a difference 0.75mm can make!

I heard that!

I always thought my full size CZ carried comfortably OWB on the hip in my Galco Concealable but I just don't carry the full size too much. I'm going to have to take some more measurements.

Not those kind of measurements! Get your head out of the sewer, man!

Great Price on HST

IDK -- they might have increased their S&H charges since I last ordered (or maybe my box weight kept creeping up as I shopped around for more "stuff") but I couldn't help but throw in a couple more boxes of Federal HST at this price: https://www.outdoorlimited.com/ProductDetails.asp?Pr...

Re: 9mm NATO ammo

Just thought that I'd add, MEM 124 NATO out of Germany is good stuff as well based on groups. I didn't chrono it myself, but allegedly is slightly less powered than NATO?? Hmmm . . . thought it was NATO. Anyway, I don't have as much stick time with yet, but the first couple of hundred rounds down ra...

What a difference 0.75mm can make!

I mostly carry OWB at 3:30 to 4:00. I have a very awesome UBG pancake holster featuring relatively wide-spread belt snaps that I use for my CZ 2075. I really like the quick on/off capability of the snaps having to go in and out of criminal safe zones in the course of my business. If I’m not mistaken...

Re: Red Dots

IIRC, no accuracy gain up close or further away from the eye so long as you can see the dot. Furthermore it need not be centered. I will be experimenting with a Delta Point Pro 2.5 moa on a CZ85B once it comes back from the smith (CGW). I'm not interested in co witnessing with Irons for my non-SD pu...

Re: 9mm NATO ammo

Yeah, buddy! Back to ammo. In addition to a recent buy of the above mentioned favorites, I decided to pick up a case of German manufactured MEM 124gr NATO. On line reviewers said it is lower pressure than NATO, thought NATO was NATO, but I even seen some advertisement for 115gr NATO which just doesn...

There is already a Gen 6 design with a rotating barrel. Prints are in German. Still looks like a glock. Why not start from scratch on another series? Keeping the Gen+1 nomenclature just seems like they just haven't made perfection yet. Try, try again...

Re: Magazine preferences?

Oops. Just had a premature slide lock with one more round to go with a Mecgar 8 round mag. Hmmmmm....

My 1911 mags pretty much see the same number of rounds, being all stuffed awaiting duty and emptied one after another. Lather, rinse, repeat.

9mm NATO and Blaser Brass Case, 124 gr. have been supurb in my now favorite 9mm handguns: CZ75B Matte Stainless & CZ85B. Still going heavy with 147 gr HST for self defense, however which is extremely accurate as well in my smaller CZ RAMI. Perhaps you can tell I'm now officially a CZ (hammer fir...

Re: Most Reliable "GI"-type 1911s

Touché. Should have said "loved one".

I bought my Rem R1S some time ago for its traditional styling and like it much. Larger dots suit my eyes, even though Ive learned my most accurate shooting comes from ignoring the dots in favor if tiny slivers of light (for paper obviously).

Springfield's ILS (the Taurus key lock gun to club conversion) was sell out enough for me many moons ago. I told ya so! Extrapolating a bit, isn't high time the Federal Government wacks more local jurisdictions for abusing civil liberties such as the God given rights and State barriers preventing ci...

Although the revolvers may be DAO, its nice to see that women like hammers on their pistols! I wonder if the fat women are carrying in the same fashion as the skinny chick depicted.

Streamlight Protac2 AAA rides with me every day for a couple years now. Best flashlight I've ever purchased. It mostly finds a home in front shirt pocket along with a pen and cell phone (business attire). Only 2 AAA batteries, this thing shines and has great battery life. Its developed a nice patina...

Glock meh.

To be fair have you tried the same holster, but made for your Glock alternative? I found on occasion a preference for a particlar arm based on my particular holster option I have for it.

I was offended at my favorite indoor range that all of bad guy targets were stereotypical whitey thugs. I used to enjoy the extra 2 aiming points afforded on the white chick targets. After confronting the clerk, exchanging conversation I felt better when he gave me the, "go ahead and draw a tur...

Seriously though... was it you, Nate that said a 1911 deserves a leather holster. Surely esthetics played a role in that coordination.

No offense to Virginians, if that was the intended word that solicited the above post. I clearly was thinking about, "vaginas".
