Re: Server outtage

What an arrogant, yet ignorant response. Your opinion has been challenged, and so your response is to question my knowledge and suggest that I study up. Right back at you... We could keep playing this back and forth game, but instead I will leave you with this big picture summation: No matte...

Re: Server outtage

Have we really ever discussed anything that would implicate criminal intent? Ever ? Granted that much of our content isn't politically correct but nothing has ever been said that could be considered treasonous or criminal? There are literally thousands of ways to run afoul of the US Code, NOBODY kn...

Re: Server outtage

I never said both warrants were equally as easy to execute. I said warrants for both could eventually be obtained, which is true. You also can't gloss over the NSA. Their servers intercept information, as it is sent from the server to one's browser... Whether that be PM'a, emails, or web browsing/s...

Re: Server outtage

Things posted online live on forever, whether they are on a cloud based server, or locally owned and controlled server. Warrants can be eventually obtained for both, but may not even be necessary for them to get what they want, given the over reach of the NSA. Besides, no extreme vetting of new mem...

Re: Server outtage

Three words. National security letter. If you don't want to know when a LEO decides to ask for, and get a forensic image of all of your data, without judicial oversight, then there are vast advantages to hosting on a 'cloud' service. Heck, I keep the rent paid supporting the massive infrastructure n...

Re: Infringement by Watchlist

Like everything else, the meaning of "due process" has been reinterpreted in favor of the state. It used to include sufficient notice, an uninterested magistrate, and an opportunity to be heard. No longer. As the gwot continues, expect to see more and more stripped from citizens via admini...

Re: Handgun vs AR15

Just about any rifle besides a .22lr is going to beat the snot out of any handgun for stopping power. Period. Yeah in some sense a bullet is a bullet, and if the 5.56 doesnt reach fragmentation velocity (~2300 fps if i remember correctly) then it might as well be a really fast, heavy 22lr.... BUT in...

Incorrect. 5.56 fragmentation is all about velocity. The closer you are the faster it is.

That finish doesnt appear durable. Even if the replacement is flawless, it will look like ass in 6 months. It sucks that stainless isnt an option.

Its like buying an AMG that has a MAACO paint job....

Re: Titan

When I ordered my Titan I had a lengthy discussion with the seller stating that I required a flawless gun with absolutely no signs of handling wear. I had no intention of spending $4k for a gun that was anything less than perfect. I picked it up today (it was still sealed in the UPS box at my FFL w...

Re: HD/Field sidearm

I appreciate everyone's feedback, but I think some of you are basically dismissing the threat that predators present. Sure, it's remote, but it isn't remote to the people who get mauled by a bear or cat in the mountain states every year. Since there is a dedicated effort to reintroduce grizzlies to ...

HD/Field sidearm

Since I had to downsize my small collection a couple of years ago due to financial pressures, I have been content to stick with my compact and j frame carry guns. I am contemplating moving one of those into permanent gtfo bag rotation, and find myself in need of another weapon. It will ride the nigh...

Re: "Nice" pistol reccomendations

Ifn I was going to drop a grand or thereabouts on a non carry 45. (If you arent going to carry it, why fuck around with small?) Besides the HK45 I would also seriously consider an FNX45 or its "tactical" version. I know, you said "safe queen", but imo, something pretty enough to ...

I'm sorry to report that I was disappointed with this product. There is zero retention force to this design. The magazine slides in and out of the retention clip with zero resistance. I'm having nightmares of dropping magazines on the ground while getting into and out of my car, and will be returnin...

Re: AR15 pistols

Nate, go with the longest barrel that works for you. Even the 10" has a ridiculously short fragmentation range with 55gr. Or go really really heavy.

It would be a good time to get a 458 socom pistol then :D

Re: AR15 pistols

Id go 10" simply because it will increase your range beyond which you lose fragmentation velocity, and as you know, with 5.56, when you lose fragmentation velocity, unless you are shooting really heavy, you are basically shooting 22 magnum. If you want a 7, perhaps you should consider a heavier...

Re: XDs

I trust my xds, and enjoy shooting it, but i only bought it because i wanted a .45 pocket gun. The xds is designed for .45, so its overengineered for 9mm. If i buy a 9mm pocket pistol, I'd go shield as well. The ergos are better, the reliability is comparable, and why bother with a glock that has 6 ...
