Bye bye Bump-Fire

I was discussing the Las Vegas shooting with friends on Facebook. From 30 seconds of phone video I saw, I concluded that he was using an AR15 with a bump-fire stock: https://s1.postimg.org/7xs9gdxze7/image.jpg Today: "Two officials familiar with the investigation into the shooting told the AP t...

Re: Perfection Improved

Why not start from scratch on another series? Because they got it right the first time. Any improvements since involve minor changes for operator convenience. I know of very few functional changes that ever made it more reliable. How much more reliable can you be than 100%? The steel recoil spring ...

Re: 9mm NATO ammo

Ythought NATO was NATO, but I even seen some advertisement for 115gr NATO which just doesn't seem right at all! NATO standard is NATO standard, but the term "9mm NATO" is often inappropriately used synonymously with 9x19mm. While all 9mm NATO are 9x19mm, not all 9x19mm are 9mm NATO. If th...

This is my preferred practice ammunition, and this is the best price I've found it.

Definitely a great choice! I'm all over Colt (on social media) trying to encourage them to release a Series 70 Delta Commander.

Re: The best 1911

Ive played around with several variants of the sub 4.25" barrel guns. EVERY ONE of them had issues feeding some type of ammo. Agreed. The only reliable shorter gun I've found is the EMP from Springfield, but that's because they actually shrink down the internal components to make it work. Mine...

Re: Dallas PD finds Sig 320 unfit for duty

i did not claim the failure rate to be acceptable. just stated you were wrong for making a blanket statement. The discharge rate is high enough; I rounded up. Regardless, its simply unacceptable that it would happen one time in a hundred, much less ninety six times in a hundred. Moving forward: per...

Re: Dallas PD finds Sig 320 unfit for duty

you will see in this video that your statement of 100% failure rate is debunked. So where is the line? Is 95% failure rate acceptable? Is a simple majority enough to remove concern? It's still close enough to 100% that this magazine, who accepts advertiser dollars from Sig, would produce a video to...

Re: Dallas PD finds Sig 320 unfit for duty

youtube has already proved you wrong numerous time on this point. I guess you missed this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ch7si_VQsGA Sig-fan videos where they drop it at an angle outside the known discharge angle do nothing to minimize the threat of the known discharge drop angle. Sig spends a lo...

Re: Dallas PD finds Sig 320 unfit for duty

no firearm is 100% impervious from failing. But again, this isn't a failure; this is a design flaw. even glock, HK, springfield, etc will at some point in time fail if dropped. this is a reality we have to accept. I would ask you to cite any such example from any of these guns that have FPS in the ...

Re: Dallas PD finds Sig 320 unfit for duty

machines break and malfunction on a regular basis. This isn't a malfunction or breakage; this is a poor design. There is no excuse for not having a FPS in this gun designed as a duty gun. the gun has proven to be acceptable to several reputable agencies for a few years now and a which hunt happened...

Re: Dallas PD finds Sig 320 unfit for duty

the government contract model has the upgraded fire control group which will be retrofitted into all prexisting p320 models which is apparently "safe" I think not only did they drop the ball on the original design, but the fix is a bullshit fix. They basically made the trigger lighter so ...
