why the glock

while this post is just my .02 on the perfect carry gun for me YMMV , I figured I'd throw it out there . I went to gander mountain tonight to pick up a new 3wt and 5wt line for 2 of my trout fly rods and while the wife was looking at the many areas of clearance winter clothing items ...I went and lo...

Re: M&P 2.0

I was out looking and thinking of adding another gun to my carry needs . I walked away buying nothing . I just cant get past Glock . I can work on them and order every piece and part I need from any of 3 web sights . I may wind up with a G23 here shortly and do my normal routine of changes . Stainle...

Re: When did you know?

My moment is not as memorable. At 38 I had 6 stints placed into my heart due to block age . At 42 a triple by-pass . while I've never had a heart attack there is no damage to the heart but I was getting older . Every night on the news reports of violence , heroin , etc....I'm now 51 . 6'2'' 230 lbs....

Re: Holster Help

Well , Ive been digging around on the net for a few days now and I don't believe I'm gonna do it . I'm sure I could get it done it looks fairly easy ..but I would have more money in tools and supplys than it would cost just to buy a good holster ..... I could buy a milt sparks for less than what it ...

Re: Favorite Pistol Sights

thru more than a few yrs of IDPA match shooting , Ive come to find as long as you can transpose the front sight center mass the shot will be where it needs to be if your a 1'' or 2 high or low its not gonna matter much . At typical self defense distances I am on the same terms as the OP first remark...

Re: New

Ever seen the pictures of the guy that carried in a el-cheapo holster ? this would most likely have the same result. The trigger needs to be covered ! The gun must be secure . As a rule if your gonna carry, good belts and good holsters are every bit as important as safe gun handling and proper attit...

Holster Help

I would like to make a belt holster for my G26 , very similar in design to the Desantis mini scabbard or mini slid . I have one for my G19 and S&W 65 and like them a lot for cooler weather carry . I never made a holster before but would like too . What OZ leather should I get ? I'm thinkin 8 wha...

Re: G19 rated #1

I carry a 19 or a 26 .....wont get any argument from me ..... Glocks may not be pretty , and I'm sure at least for myself I had a hard time accepting them when they first came out but know I don't leave home without one of mine ...trust it with my life ... stay safe

Re: Crossbreed testimony

Ive been looking at there stuff ...I have a King -Tuk that I use for my 19 and 26 .....I like it a lot ...but I bet if it ever breaks I'll have to purchase another . The cross breed or King -Tuk is most surly my favorite holster style .... But with the cooler months approaching my attention switches...

Re: FOXX HYBRID IWB - first impressions

I really prefer this style of holster , My King-tuk fits both my 26 and 19 and I as well have other IWB holsters for each and a belt holster for the 19 . Maybe adding the comfort pad and up-grading the clips would be a good thing . doesn't look like a bad rig for $39.00 heck for that price you cant ...

Re: Don't let this happen to you

Here in Ohio open carry is legal......Mind you I don't practice open carry ....Concealed means concealed .....I would rather keep it covered and stay out of the public attention ...... Weve had police shoot a man with a toy gun in Walmart , a concealed carry person was assaulted by a wood be do good...

Re: Glock 43

I had a 43 in my hand and well lets just say Ill stick with my 26 and 19 ..... My hands are fairly large and well versed in the standard size glock pistols ...the gun is a good idea and I'm sure many will be picking one up ....My wife liked it but I cant get her to give up the damn .380

Re: range gun vs concealed

I must agree with the 2 above statements .... a personal defense situation will most likely be close and fast . I practice shooting from the hip as soon as the gun breaks the leather ..... I also do this while retreating 1 or 2 quick rounds from the hip then come to full draw while retreating . If s...
