Re: SP101 or S&W 686(+) or Colt Python

Alright so what about a Model 66? K frame, not L like the 686 correct? Harder to find I'm sure. Would it be any less durable with a lighter frame or is that mostly a non-issue? I want this to handle full house loads.

Re: SP101 or S&W 686(+) or Colt Python

Out of those listed I would suggest the SP101 , but have you considered a GP100 ? They are available with 3", 4" and 6" barrels. Personally I find the revolvers with 3" barrels point the best. I certainly can't speak to how any of these might feel in your hands, but to me the Ru...

SP101 or S&W 686(+) or Colt Python

I am considering picking up my first revolver in the near future. I'm not a revolver guy per se, but I would like to own a quality specimen at some point. I would OC it when in the woods but CC would be rare to never so I'm thinking 3" minimum. Other than handling each to see which feels best i...

Yeah I dont expect to make a killing on these things. Just trying to get them gone for an amout that justifies my time. Still need to dig them out and compile the details.

Archery/Bow guys

I have a bunch of compound bows and accessories stored in my garage that the family isn't using any longer. I'd like to sell these locally or on fleabay this summer but I really know nothing about their value. Anyone here know about bows? If I posted a bunch of details about them could you give me s...

Re: A video for those who think Glocks never fail

I received a response to my email. The information packet submitted by SSPD to the media will be reviewed for specific information about the firearm/caliber used by the officer, and if this report lacks that information she will request comment from the Deputy Chief. Hopefully more to follow on this.

Re: A video for those who think Glocks never fail

I did a bunch of Googling about the department and couldn't find any details about their issued equipment so I emailed one of the local reporters asking the model/caliber question. To my eye that's an empty 40 S&W casing at the 1:57 mark, but I'm man enough to eat crow if I hear otherwise. I wil...

Can you post a screen shot of the exact moment the slide moves forward before he racks it manually? I'm not seeing it.

I'm a complete knife geek and Opinel, Mora, and Condor are probably the best value you will find in the cutlery world. Condor for a full tang workhorse, Mora for comfort and versatility, and Opinel for your pocket.

Re: A video for those who think Glocks never fail

I did and I can see how his thumb position provides a basis for your argument, but with his support hand obscuring a direct view, I don't think the video is conclusive. What it does show clearly is an empty casing leaving the firearm after he racks the slide. http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah31...

Re: A video for those who think Glocks never fail

I don't think it's evident he drops the slide with the release lever, THEN racks it again. I have the vid paused at 1:57 and it is clearly an empty casing being ejected. I'll post it up when I figure out how to get a PrintScreen converted to a decent size JPEG. Glocks obviously suck and can't be tru...

Re: A video for those who think Glocks never fail

If that was the case, then why did we see a casing come out of the gun when he racked the slide to get it back into battery? If this was simply a case of accidentally engaging the slide stop, then there should not be a casing jammed in the gun, right? This was my point. The slide stayed rearward wi...

Re: Tell us a joke

In 1986, Peter Davies was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from Louisiana State University . On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee, i...

Re: A video for those who think Glocks never fail

A quick look tells me that slide rode forward onto an empty casing that hadn't cleared the port fully, then frees up when he racks the slide. Seems like a stovepipe, but i reserve the right to revise my opinion.

I'm a 1911 rook...two of the trigger facings have holes milled for set screws, one does not. Why is this?
