Re: Stopping power matters

nathan, easy, i get the hell out of dodge. i work in a big ass factory with lots of different escape routes in addition to hard cover and concealment. my office is located a good ways away from any entrance. no need to be a hero when i can retreat. im not going to run into a bad situation. work is a...

Re: Stopping power matters

I answered your question with "depends". It depends on what I've got on me that day and what options I have to remove myself and or my family from the situation. Its awfully presumptuous for you to assume the choice would always be a G20, perhaps for you it's a logical choice. It might not...

I'd take an AR pistol over both options, but I guess the answer "depends" on what you have on you that day

Re: Stopping power matters

stopping power is a fallacy. shot placement is paramount. disrupting vital body systems (skeletal, muscular, pulmonary, cardiovascular, nervous, or psychological) is key. I both agree, and disagree. I do not believe in the concept of "stopping power" as a guarantee of outcome. I do howeve...

one of the biggest things that people who carry dont get training on is use of force. its one of the best classes ive taken next to anything medical related.

i found the green dot in general to be more usable across all light conditions where as the red dots tend to wash out in bright sun. otherwise the scope should serve your needs well.

New Boom Stick

I picked up a new book stick last year and have been using it for a while now, ive got about 500 rounds down the pipe and this is by far one of my favorite shotguns to shoot. Highly recommend Benelli's if your looking for a very good semi auto. This has eaten everything from 2 3/4 bird loads (1200fp...

Re: AR's with 7.5 & 10.5 inch barrels?

10.5 probably the better choice unless your going to be running it suppressed. otherwise the concussion and muzzle blast will become quite unpleasant.

both should be effective at distances under 200 yards if you can do your part.

honestly, we as a society dont teach children how to cope, process, and work through complex emotional responses to things such as bullying, rejection, failure, etc. Take "bullying" for example. countless laws have been enacted to stop it rather than provide kids with the tools to process ...

Early Production HK

i have had some down time over the last few days and i was doing some I&I on my pistols and realized i have an early production USPc Stainless. Its a KH date code (1997) with s/n 00065xx. I thought this was pretty cool as the USPc was first intoduced in 1996.

it got popular in MI for a bit when the shotgun hunting rules were changed. Right now the 450 bushmaster seems to be the king of big bore ARs around here with many ive talked to who have adopted the round. it has solid performance out to about 300 yards on whitetail deer.

Re: Racking the Slide

it mostly depends on the gun and what i am doing. i will use the "old" method to lock the slide back on an empty chamber. I typically use the "new" method when checking to see if a pistol is loaded. to me, there is less vision obstruction when using the "new" method. I ...
