Re: The best 1911

I'd own a EMP if they weren't so pricy. Outstanding design. They didn't try to make a short 1911, they shrunk it.

Re: Get me started?

Comment on old post. Avoid lead bullets and casting your own. Buy Plated pullets. Barrys plated are great value. Dillon 650 press. I still load with a single stage pacific 007 press. but when i want to pump out rounds I make a 150mi drive to a friends house to use his dillon. Relaxing I can crank ou...

Re: Seeking rifle recommendations

Just a note to an old post. The .243 is considered the poor mans bench rest caliber. Extremely flat shooting, plenty of punch for white tail. Good choice!

Highpoint 4595 45acp carbine

Just a quick post. Ill do an in depth review once i can figure out how to post pictures again. Simply put this is one of the best fun and functional guns you can buy for $300. It will eat anything, from reloads to corbons. 50yd accuracy with a 2 mil dot red dot scope from walmart is sub 6". I h...

Simply, yes. Numerous complaints of the 870 failing to eject spent rounds in the newer models.
the fix. 0000 steel wool on a cleaning rod attached to a drill. polish the chamber a bit and its fixed

Re: The best 1911

Replying to a old post. Ive played around with several variants of the sub 4.25" barrel guns. EVERY ONE of them had issues feeding some type of ammo. If you cant feed it anything available from Corbons to SWC's its not reliable in my opinion. close to your price range would be the Dan Wesson V-...

Re: Colt TALO Commander

My Daily carry is still my colt commander. Its a older series 70 satin Nickel that Ive customized to fit my needs. I shoot it at least twice a month in competition. It eats anything i feed it, and the bullets go where I point it. IMHO its the best all around weapon for carry, weight and 9 rnd limita...

Re: Question

The vertue of a pistol cal. Carbine has merrit. If you look at it in terms of extending your pistol out to 50yds. Its not a bad thing. As a home defence weapon its a low recoil, threat remover. Especially if equiped with a light/lazer combo. Ive a cheap highpoint 4595 beside my bed on the wifes side...

RE 200k miles and still running strong

Well, unfortunately I have discovered the hard way that GM sucks! Shortly after my 200k post my 5.3l started idling rough. It had always had a little burble at idle but this was a definite miss. This quickly got progressively worse, then finally set a P300 and P301 code. Multiple misfires, multiple ...

Re: Opinions on the Colt Defender

The angle the barrel drops is directly related to its length. Going shorter than 4" creates an angle too steep to feed relialable. The 1911 was never meant to be that short. It may pass the 200rd test or it may not. Personally im not going to trust my life to a maybe. The extra 1 1/4 in. of a c...

Re: One long gun under tyranny...

It surprises me that if truly limited to one gun that anyone would choose a 100 yard gun. Shotguns are awesome and have their place; what they do they do better than anything...but if you can truly only have one long gun why limit yourself to 100 yards? I'm certainly not criticizing anyone for thei...
