Re: Colt LE6920

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/madcratebuilder/50923489.jpg This makes it appear as if the 1:9 and the 1:7 perform equally with 62 grain bullets. This contradicts everything I've been taught on this issue which I wasn't even aware of before last year. While either offers "acceptable&quo...

Re: One long gun under tyranny...

He prohibited pistol grips, thus my recommendation. If pistol grips are acceptable I would choose the AR10.

Re: One long gun under tyranny...

It surprises me that if truly limited to one gun that anyone would choose a 100 yard gun. Shotguns are awesome and have their place; what they do they do better than anything...but if you can truly only have one long gun why limit yourself to 100 yards? I'm certainly not criticizing anyone for their...

In this oppressive scenario the M1A seems the obvious superior choice.

Re: Colt LE6920

I have no experience with any ammo other than the Federal 55 grain and some steel case Monarch ammo, also 55 grain. Ideally the 1:7 twist rate is for 75+ grains. Since I shoot only 855 penetrators (62 grain, steel core) I go for the 1:9. That said, I don't know how much real world difference you wi...

Yours? I like the Colts but prefer 1:9 twist rate since I shoot 62 grain exclusively.

Python grip score - Thank you, LazyH!

http://s18.postimg.org/qddfpout5/image.jpg I found this Colt Python at Scheels last year for $900.00 and bought it without hesitation (most any functional Python can bring twice that). It was only after I got home and ran the serial number that I found it is actually a first generation model manufa...

The snow/ice builds up on the step while I'm driving (even with flaps) then when I get out I don't expect the step to be covered in ice.

Side steps and ice

http://s3.postimg.org/jq68tspmr/dtr.jpg http://s10.postimg.org/6007yijl5/image.jpg I bought this set of Ranch Hand side steps for my '14 Dodge 2500. I like them just fine until ice starts to build up in the step while driving and my foot slips off causing me to bang my shin on the steel bar. Is the...

Re: What do you consider the minimum SD caliber

Many departments are switching from .40 to 147 grain 9mm. They could have saved themselves a lot of hassle had they simply listened to what I've been preaching since '06. The secret to making 9mm truly effective is to utilize 147 grain JHP. Go heavy.

Nathan, I posted a reply to you on this gun and I see nothing in regards to it.....wonder what happened there? I'm betting Randy made a mistake. Re: Commander 1911 options

I thought a bit of frame metal had to be hogged out to accommodate the extended beavertails of today? It depends on the gun in question and the beavertail in question. I might as well take this opportunity bring up the analogy of kleenex and 1911 as being generic terms. 1911 still means something t...

Re: if u can only have one long gun...

I won't argue that its a great gun (I'd love to have one!). My '94 chambered in .44 Magnum is my favorite rifle hands down...I love the thing...but if I could only own one rifle I wouldn't limit it to a 100 yard gun. In the SE a 100 yard gun might be a good choice...I slayed countless white tails wi...

Nazi Hi-Power Questions

I've always wanted a Nazi Hi-Power with appropriate stampings and matching numbers and I'm considering bidding on THIS ONE before the auction ends in three days. I have two questions before I start bidding, one involving this particular Hi-Power and one involving the Hi-Power I really want. First qu...

Re: Skinny Guy CC recomendations

The whole "tuckable" concept is somebody's idea of a sick joke in my book. I've tried it. My friends have tried it. All of us are varying body types from skinny to fat. It never worked for any of us no matter the holster. I've toyed with the idea of a Crossbreed holster but not as a tucka...
