Re: SAA

get ahold of these guys, they can pretty much do anything you want to a revovlver & cylinder. Were this any other gun I wouldn't hesitate to utilize any respected smith...but it would seem disrespectful to the heritage to send it to anybody other than Colt. They'll fit a .45 ACP cylinder with s...

Re: Boresights

the bore sight you have pictured is what i used when i mounted scoped at the gun shop. typically bore sights will either get the wind-age or elevation right and in my experience its only going to save 2-3 rounds on the shooting bench. you would be better off putting the money towards a led sled.

Re: Seeking rifle recommendations

7mm-08, .243, .270, 25-06 all would be good options for your daughter and will be more than enough gun for a deer. you could also go the AR route too if your hunting regs allow it. Many white-tails are taken in MI with the .223. you could always look at a 6.8 SPC or 6.5 Grendel in the AR platform to...

Re: 458 Socom optic

i think if you went with a true 1-4x or 1-6x optic you could get the best of both worlds. on 1x you could run it as if it were a red dot site (there are many scopes that come with illuminated redicles too) and use leave it there for when your processing downed game. when your hunting big game you c...

i believe trijicon puts serial numbers on their products. the pictures posted look like stock photos so i would ask for more personally. the seller has quite a bit of sales and appears to have generally good feedback too. this might help you too http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/archive/index.php/t...

Re: .458 SOCOM

based on what i just read, the CMMG rifle uses a beefed up receiver and bolt to handle the increased power of the 458. you will probably be ok using this ammo in a standard AR so long as you dont feed it a steady diet of it. But is the rifle some how fails (cracked receiver, bolt failure, Kaboom, et...

Re: Best sights I've found

Trijicon HD's are really starting to grow on me. I don't like that the ring requires charging from a light source. If you wake up in the middle of the night in a dark room (precisely when you need them to work most), the ring won't be charged. That's my primary rejection of the HK glow in the dark ...

Re: Chasing the holy grail of carry

you could get a G20SF and chop the frame to a G29 and then have the barrel flush cut to the slide for 10mm or the 21/30 mod in .45. Have someone do grip slimming/reduction work on the frame and viola your nearly perfect pistol with a barrel that is .2 inches longer than spec. My issue with the Gloc...

Wiki touches on it, but doesn't get nearly deep enough. I guess the better question is, why don't you own a .41 Magnum? Why don't I own a .41 Magnum? I really have no answer. in the realm of predominately reloader only calibers and really very nitch calibers i want a .357 Maximum more  The...

Re: Why you should reload

Gotcha. So the dies are the main cost of a new caliber on progressive. Since I already have those for most the calibers I shoot it shouldn't be too bad. How do you like the horandy press? I don't know much about the progressives except I don't really want to pay for a Dillion set up. my hornady wor...

get the ABC's of Reloading. it will cover everything you need to know and then some. If i were to do it over again i would get Dillion Equipment. Their NO BS warranty is just that. If your only looking to load one caliber, the SquareDeal press is the best value. I can get you pointed in the right di...

Re: .45 Shield - no OEM night sights?

with it being a "new" model your not going to immediately see all of the different options found on the 9/40 models that have been out for a few years. Give it time or source your own night sights if you have to have it now.
