Re: UPDATE: M855 and SS109 Now illegal

OK, Mr. Hand, I'll join you in the looney house. We've had reports of islamic groups training under arms in remote USA camps. Our administration knows and allows it. One of these groups will stage an attack on a mall, using ARs and M855 ammo. Because they obtained their weapons and ammo on our open...

Re: UPDATE: M855 and SS109 Now illegal

Waiting for the false flag mentioned above by Nate. My guess is it's either going to be ISIS or "the militia". The "lone nut gunman" thing is getting old and more people are wising up to it. They need to up the fear threshold with something more outrageous if they're going to ha...

I know it's not as "scientific" as a lot of the modern ballistics testing / statistical analysis, but one of the things that has stuck in my mind the most over the years was something that W.E. Fairbairn and E.A. Sykes, men who were personally involved in about as many shoot-outs as anyone...

Re: UPDATE: M855 and SS109 Now illegal

Despite all the talk here, how many of you have actually sent letters of complaint? I've found before that many of us "gun people", especially the survival-oriented ones, often shy away from writing to our friendly fascist friends at the federal government out of fear of having our names l...

Sometimes I carry a Makarov as backup, if it's hot. Sometimes I carry a 1911 as backup, if it's not.

Anyone else do the 2 full size service pistols thing?

Re: M1 Carbine love?

The M1 carbine is one awesome gun. Lightweight and no perceptible recoil, very accurate at short ranges. It's been a few years since I've shot one but in my experience they are some of the most pleasant centerfires rifles to shoot. The .30 caliber bore and relatively low powder charge make it easier...

Beretta should have just kept refining the original 92. Even if they're not the most tacticoolest thing anymore and their reputation took a hit from the Desert Storm aftermarket mags debacle, the Beretta 92 still has a loyal following. They should have put more effort into solving the locking block ...

Re: Common sense prevails in NJ flintlock owner case

I don't want a prosecutor "taking chances" on a case that isn't solid. That is the basis of my entire objection. Far too many prosecutions. Even if you win, you lose because you just spent tens of thousands of dollars defending yourself and possibly lost a lot more in the process. We (the...

+1 on LWP's suggestion about removing weapons from your home, maybe leave one that you wouldn't miss as much if it was confiscated.

Truly sorry to hear about your predicament.

Best wishes and prayers are going in your direction.

"a person with a mental problem ". This is a slippery slope. Did you read about the ex-cop who had his guns taken because of insomnia? Real slippery slope. Right on. When the Soviets couldn't come up with a legal reason to get rid of someone they didn't like, they would sometimes come up ...

Doesn't blocking posts defeat the purpose of a forum? A forum is a forum for discussion, but what value is a discussion if you refuse to acknowledge opposing viewpoints? If you only want to hear from like-minded people, at that point isn't a discussion little more than patting each other on the back...

A Desert Eagle with a chrome finish. About as over-the-top as you can get, but would still be "fun" on the range.

Re: Kansas moving towards no permit

That's great news. Vermont, Alaska, Arizona and Wyoming already have Constitutional Carry and it has worked well in those states. More importantly, it's good to see more people recognizing that carrying a weapon, open or concealed, is an inherent right, and not a privilege that is granted by "o...

Re: How Do You Rate FMJ Ammo?

No matter how you want to play with it, the .380 just makes no sense to me at all. I tend to agree with you, but there are reasons. 1) Less recoil. People with small or weak hands who don't want to carry a mid-to-large size handgun are better off with a lighter recoiling gun. Take a petite young wo...

Please explain how and why you may use FMJ ammo for personal safety. Do you not have a source for good HP ammo intended for personal defense? Hi LWP. I was saying that my main reason for having firearms in general is for personal safety - if a certain brand of ammo shows defects, then I won't bothe...

I've always found excellent quality in WWB. Has something changed? I don't know if it has recently, cause it was a few years ago that I stopped buying it. Maybe I just had bad luck with the last few boxes I had bought, but the number of defective cartridges was unsettling - as in, more than 1% of t...

Re: How Do You Rate FMJ Ammo?

MY own rating... Federal / American Eagle - Has always worked for me just about perfectly. No idea how much of this stuff I've shot over the years! No complaints and good price. If FMJ was all I could get my hands on, it would be my first choice for defense. PMC Bronze - Has always worked as well as...

that sense of power or meanness can rub off. If someone doesn't go into that field a monster already, they stand a good chance of coming out of it as one. My wife has a nephew that I've often wondered if he does not like that sense of power he has as a deputy on an Indian reservation too much. That...
