I don't yet know how to respond; how tragic.

Non-essential purges

This forum software has the capability of deleting conversations that haven't been read in X number of days and/or haven't been responded to in X number of days. While not necessary for proper function (the new DB and software are really fast and can handle any foreseeable load), I like the idea of ...

Re: CCW holder saves woman from being beaten: Tactical considerations

So knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently in that situation. It depends on the level of abuse. Hitting someone isn't the same thing as sitting on top of them continually pummeling them. I would assess the situation and react accordingly. It would take a lot for me to put my...

Re: CCW holder saves woman from being beaten: Tactical considerations

I was driving along Grove St. in Fayetteville NC (Ron, I'm sure you remember that part of town!) about twenty five years ago at midnight when I witnessed a man hitting a woman repeatedly. I slammed on the brakes and jumped out with my Browning Hi-Power and charged in to save the day. I pointed my gu...

Re: Christmas Ammo

The entire ammunition industry is downloading cartridges to maximize profit. It's no different from Walmart selling 50# of dog food for $16 and then the next thing you know its 46# for the same $16. If you track your ammunition you see that many FMJ brands of .40 target ammunition used to be 180 gra...

Re: Opinions on the Colt Defender

While they aren't as reliable as 1911s, they can still be reliable enough. Take it out and run it. If you can shoot your carry load of choice 200 times without failure (lubricating after every 50), call it good and carry with confidence.

Re: if u can only have one long gun...

FN I believe has the sole copy right or trade mark for AR10! Unlike 1911 and kleenex it is not truely a generic term. "The AR-10 is a 7.62 mm battle rifle developed by Eugene Stoner in the late 1950s at ArmaLite, then a division of the Fairchild Aircraft Corporation. When first introduced in 1...

Re: Colt LE6920

It touches upon it but again the diagram makes them appear truly equal at 62 grains which is an over-simplification as it applies to acceptable combat accuracy only. Commentary concerning the importance of who makes the barrel being more important would be valid if there were crappy AR15 barrels out...

I'd just get rid of them. Nice truck. I am a Dodge man…drive a Ram 2500 Diesel. 360,000 miles and no problems. I own a commercial refrigeration company and thus a small fleet of trucks. I either own or have owned every brand/engine/transmission option available from 3/4+ ton OEMs. I've owned severa...

Re: Colt LE6920

Looks like an Eotech can be had for $300. Keep in mind that there are varying grades of Eotech. If you need a Ford truck you can get a Ford truck for under $30,000. You aren't going to get an F350 King Ranch under $30,000, but you can get a base Ford truck for under $30,000. It comes down to what g...

Re: What do you consider the minimum SD caliber

And in my backup gun (380 in an ankle holster) the Buffalo Bore +p ammo actually has better specs (on paper at least) than a 38 special. 1200 fps and 288 ft/lbs Irrelevant. Simple energy means no thing in terms of effectiveness at typical handgun velocity. From CarryGuide.com : "Some believe i...

Re: Colt LE6920

I would love to have an Eotech because the reticle may be better for my astigmatism. However, i cannot justify $450 for an optic at this You can always justify spending more money for a quality optic; nothing else matters if you aren't hitting your target. I use and highly recommend the Eotech 553....
