Informed Opinions on Taurus Revolvers Please

Looking for informed opinions based on firsthand experience or analysis of Taurus revolvers. Not interested in "everyone says they're junk" or "their reputation sucks". I already know that. I'm only interested in opinions from people who have actually used them (preferably over a...

Re: Weapon access in vehicle

Last couple years I've made a habit of keeping one of my pistols in a holster but on the seat next to me, covered with something but out of sight when driving through certain areas. Much quicker to get to than drawing from the hip. If I anticipate spending an unusually high amount of time in a vehic...

Re: Open up to new members?

...I genuinely don't miss Facebook with all the liberal fuck shamers trying to convince me that I should be perfectly accepting of men going into the bathroom with my young daughters...but I do gotta find a (less expensive) way to spend my idle time away from Gun Broker. My deadly sin appears to be...

Re: Leather dye in unfinished stainless

Even with natural leather with no dye, the leather fibers will get into the pores of matte or parkerized metal. I used to carry with natural leather holsters, and I would end up with a black/tan pattern on the slide of the Arcus I was carrying at the end of the day. The only pistol I've carried whic...

Re: Open up to new members?

I quit Facebook and other social media outlets last week Congratulations! and now find that I fill my idle time on Gun Broker where I've spent $6,000 in the last week alone. Obviously this cannot continue. Yeah, if you keep getting more guns, people might think you're some sort of poly-gun-ist. :lo...

Re: S&W 3rd gen collection growing

https://s15.postimg.org/vd3oy6pyz/4006_3.jpg ...say again? With most DA/SA pistols that's not an issue. Sig, Beretta, FN, Taurus and CZ and most other manufacturers of DA/SA pistols generally use a ring or tang on the hammer for a reason. the double action trigger pull for the first shot does not m...

Re: S&W 3rd gen collection growing

Even if the first shot is harder for most individuals to hit with, especially at speed, there's two points to consider. 1) As MisterB pointed out, the hammer can be cocked manually if carrying hammer down on a loaded chamber. This could be a viable option at distance or if you had advance warning an...

Re: S&W 3rd gen collection growing

I don't believe in the concept of "rapid fire" :?: If I have to use my gun as an impact weapon, I've done something very wrong anyway. Guns can run empty or jam. If you're at contact distance, a handgun can still be extremely effective for striking with. Not an ideal situation, but the op...

Re: S&W 3rd gen collection growing

I can't help but find them to be a tad bit obsolete in that they are steel framed and have a double action first shot. After carrying a Glock, I strap on an all steel gun and it feels like I'm wearing a Volkswagen. This gets me to wondering. My usual carry gun is all steel and has an unloaded weigh...

Asked a friend who used to shoot single action cowboy matches and uses a Uberti .357 as a carry gun. He believes the Uberti lever guns use the original style hammer, not the rebounding type. His opinion was favorable.

Re: Prison for selling guns legally

Situations may be more complex, but in the end complexity does not justify a bureaucrat getting to be the "decider" of another person's occupation, not does it justify government extortion rackets. Theoretically if you are rushed to an emergency room, there are already numerous incentives ...

Re: Prison for selling guns legally

My question from before remains. Do you oppose licensing for jobs with great potential to harm others if done improperly, such as ER doctors and Airline pilots? Why or why not? Yes, I am opposed to ALL forms of licensing. If something is done between two or more parties with full knowledge and cons...

Re: Prison for selling guns legally

A license is permission to do something which is normally illegal. How is the right to keep and bear arms not infringed if it is illegal to be in the business of selling weapons? How is it NOT INFRINGED if you have to pay to exercise a right? The whole idea of licensing, while there are certain argu...

Re: Prison for selling guns legally

The ATF didn't approach this guy to steal money from him, the came to tell him to stop breaking the law, and they only found out about it because the guns he was selling were being used in crimes. What is a license to sell firearms? Costs money. Licensing is saying "Pay us in order to do somet...

I always thought the purpose of the front sight being up front was that it allowed a focal point that was BETWEEN the rearward reference points and the target. I don't see too much advantage to this setup.

Re: Prison for selling guns legally

Any sympathy I might have had for the guy faded the moment I read the part where the feds gave him a warning to stop and then waited for him to make more sales before they arrested him. He passed up a golden opportunity to let himself off the hook and now has only himself to blame. That's like sayi...
