Hey, it's back up!

Post by yankeejib » Thu Mar 07, 2019 2:27 pm

Professor Stu Padasol here. Sorry I can't operate under my real name. I'm a public school teacher and have a little too much public recognition in other arenas to be posting gun stuff that either my employer, my students' parents, or any other nosy a/0's might stumble upon on an internet search. So, I'll just post my intro with some meaningless babble, first in!

I've been playing with the new platform. No more HTML tags, huh? I posted a pic from my Flickr account and my whole library became available on the scroll. Whoa! That's not cool. Delete. I'll have to figger that one out. Youtube videos post nicely with just an addy. I'll post a vid at the end of my wife playing with my 1970 Colt AR-SP1. Her diagnosis is perfect.

Dead eye. As a sailor that has a meaning on big ships. It's basically a poor man's winch on standing rigging (that holds up the masts) where three purchases of line pass through a large wooden disk. Men could haul and tighten the lines as needed. Picture? Nope, it didn't happen, I'm gonna have to figger that one out out too. <img>https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... d.jpg<\img> Nope, that didn't work either.

In shooting, dead has the meaning of "impecable" or "flawless" while eye refers to your aim. Practice, practice, practice. I've been shooting a lot of traps lately. It's so much fun. I take my minority ethnicity friends to the "club", shoot off 300 rounds, kill 100 clays, eat lunch and piss everyone off. I'm so tired of shallow opinions anymore. Deadeye also refers to unblinking in the face of adversity. How can the modern world be so screwed up these days with the polarization and unrelenting disapproval of disapproval? Dead eye is ideal. And then of course, the Urban Dictionary has a totally different take on that phrase. Oh my...

While CCF was in the dark, my dad passed away in January. He taught me to shoot. I never realized how much I would miss him and his perspective on things. His estate is totally screwed up. Way too many parties at the table and unfortunately, I'm the host. I'm in court in three states right now on four separate petitions, I've spent $5K this month that I don't have, but I play to win. Unbelievably, my mother, his ex-wife is my benefactor in keeping lawyers greased and people pissed off at me. Dead eye.

My wife. Sound up.

C'mon. now, you have to post an intro...LOL
Sincerely,

Professor Stu Padasol

Welcome back! We're slow going getting members back, but I'm confident that once we have more to offer, we'll get back where we were. I'll post more details about what happened once I determine if there's going to be litigation with the former hosting company.

Everything should be configured exactly like the last forum was. I'm using the same software and I think that I have the options set identically. Can you be more specific about the nature of the failure? You should be able to use the add image button and it will enter the code for you to show you how to do it manually. I also haven't yet dialed in sizing options so it's possible that is the reason you are having trouble.

I'm partial to it; I even have it on my license plate for my ranch truck that I keep up at the ranch.

Man, I'm so sorry to hear that! I wish that I could tell you that it gets easier, but I'd be lying. My dad passed away almost 25 years ago and I still miss him every day.

Welcome back old friend; I'm looking forward to enjoying discussions with you and others again.

I’m new here. Was there an issue with this forum going offline? How should I best get started?

Ron here. I have been a longtime member but got a little confused about getting to the new site probably because I am retired and a senior citizen.
