Welcome to CCF 2.0
Welcome to CCF 2.0
It is with much pride that I welcome everyone to Concealed Carry Forum 2.0.
Before anything else, I first must thank everyone who helped build the original CCF website. I'm just a firearms enthusiast who happens to have a webserver. You guys are the muscle that make this site an invaluable resource for gun owners everywhere.
Building this site has required considerable effort. We aren't simply relaunching the site. We also have a new quad core Windows Server server, new programming language (PHP), new forum software package (phpBB3) and a new database (MS SQL). Getting phpBB to play nice with Windows has aged me. I first started tinkering with this back in 2007 (CLICK HERE) and gave it up after countless failed attempts. I started back again this year and spent weeks of continual trial and error to get to where we are now.
This has been an extensive learning experience for me and I am still learning. I've reached the point now where I need you guys to start using the software and finding any mistakes I've made along the way. With the coming days you will see more style/theme/color options as well as more features being added regularly. Once I'm comfortable with implementation I will be adding a portal to the site.
New users will have limited features that will increase after the new user post count is reached. If you find issues, please bring them to my attention in the HELP & SUGGESTIONS forum. The overlapping permissions section of this forum is very complex and it's likely that I've made mistakes in configurations. You might not be able to see various forums or you might not be able to post in various forums. Please bear with me as I continue to modify the site to ensure everything is working. If you run into problems registering and all else fails, please email me at NathanCollier@msn.com and explain the problem you are having.
Thanks!

I like what I've seen so far. A lot of nice new features. Now if I could just find an avatar that is small enough to change out the NOOB.

There are many functions and sections of the board that you don't yet have access to as a "Newly Registered Member"; get your post count up and more features will continue to appear.yankeejib wrote:What? No R&P?

Well, I guess I am a noob, temporarily.
Re: Welcome to CCF 2.0
Nathan, thanks for taking the time in setting up and running these sites.
Re: Welcome to CCF 2.0
Any chance the site will be available on Tapatalk?
Re: Welcome to CCF 2.0
I had at one time set up Tapatalk but removed it after learning of a major security vulnerability that they didn't announce immediately after learning of it. It really isn't necessary; if using the SE Square style setting the mobile interface is great.

Actually, I was surprised how well version 2.0 shows up on my phone -- YMMV
