IPDA SSP and Glock Chrome Kits

Postby Sebastian777 » Fri Apr 01, 2016 7:09 pm

So I'm wanting to dress up my G34 with a chrome kit. (pins, slide release, and slide lock, maybe mag release as well) I'm also wanting to try my hand at IPDA SSP competitions. I looked in the rules and it seems only factory releases and locks can be used, but custom finishes are allowed. Does anyone sell factory versions of those parts chromed or are there any that are legal for SSP?

you can apply custom finishes to the gun and its parts and it will stay SSP legal. Im an IDPA SO too. Happy Shooting!

The problem I'm having is finding an OEM mag or slide release that has been chromed. All the slide releases I'm finding are Lone Wolf or some other aftermarket one, which I believe is illegal.

Right now I'm thinking that I'll polish the slide release and lock, and either let the mag release be, or send it out to be finished.

So I decided to go the safe route and did a little sanding an polishing.

Some sort of clear coat wouldn't go amiss to prevent corrosion.

From what I have found through research, this isn't really a concern. It's stainless steel and the tennifer treatment is beyond just the painted finish.

By the way, I later realized that I forgot to do the extractor.

How about Robar NP3+ Norton Special? Not as shiny as chrome but a functional matte stainless-like finish. Self lubricating with its Teflon inpregnation.
Best regards,
