Postby hkguy » Mon Dec 21, 2015 12:25 am

just so you know, EoTech is recalling all of their optics due to a class action suit filed by the feds. the details are below

I'm still a little unclear on the extent of application. I own several 553s and while I've never used them at -40, I've done two winter classes (one at 0 and one at -25) with no issue qualifying.

you may not have issues now but the basis of the lawsuit is that L3/EOTech has been caught defrauding the govt for 8+ years. This is an opportunity to return them for MSRP with basically no questions asked. though in doing so, i believe it opts you out of the class action settlement

I don't know what I'd replace it with. My vision gets a little bit worse every year which makes me appreciate the clarity even more. I'm not yet sure what I'll do.

there are plenty of other good options out there, just depends on what you want to do. of those who know about the voluntary recall, it seems most are sending them in. I think the primary concern is if EOTech will be around once the dust settles
