Bad form. Why risk your own life to save someone else's property? The clean shot was in the store. After that, stand down.

Of course, stopping someone from stealing weapons may very well be saving other people's lives down the road. I think this gentleman probably did a very good thing in this situation.

+1, if they were stealing anything other then weapons, I might agree with Yankeejib, but the fact that they were stealing guns makes the stakes bigger then recovering property.

He was not obligated to intervene, but he still had every right to do so.

Yankee and H&S both make good points. Interesting dilemma.
