Mixed on this one

Postby Nathan » Mon Mar 23, 2015 2:43 pm

80 year old broken into four times previously, catches burglars in the act. Burglars attack him and break his collarbone. He retrieves his gun and the burglars take off running. He chases after them and shoots the female twice in the back. He isn't shy one bit about it, saying: "she couldn't run as fast as he could so I shot her twice in the back". "She said "don't shoot me I'm pregnant, I'm going to have a baby" and I shot her anyway".

Damn. :D

Despite that he gave prosecutors everything they need to prosecute him, they never filed charges against him. This was in Long Beach CA.

I remember this case. Happened in June of 2014.

Man what a moron. When the criminals start running, it's like having the lead in the final seconds of a football game. No need to do anything crazy, just take a knee, run out the clock, and then celebrate your victory.

If nothing else, you have to give this guy credit for honesty. Who here would actually admit to doing that? Also it helped that the woman wasn't actually pregnant.

I bet this is how his talk with the cops concluded.

Officer: "Mr. Greer, you realize by shooting the woman in the back while she was down, you might be charged with murder?"

Greer: "Oh please! I'm 80 years old. I'll be dead long before I ever step into a prison cell. Heck, I might be dead by the time you finish filing this report."

I can't help but love the guy...I want to condemn him but can't. :D

I would never advise anyone do as he did, though.

I can't say I love him. But at the same time, I also can't say what I would do at age 80 (or now for that matter) if two home invaders stormed into my house and caused me serious injury. Who knows what we are capable of under those circumstances?

Tests later showed she wasn't pregnant.

Increasingly, thugs must learn not to mess with old farts.

Well, then, good riddance to her.
