Detaining a criminal who surrenders: Caught on camera

Postby Ohio9 » Sat May 23, 2015 5:37 pm

This is one of the few times I've ever seen a video of a citizen who has detained a criminal who surrenders.

Pros:

Citizen showed excellent trigger discipline. Kept finger off trigger, but close enough for quick use.

Citizen was clearly ready to shoot at moment's notice if needed

Citizen put his gun on ground immediately when the police showed up

Cons:

Citizen had his gun pointed directly at the suspect. Probably should have been pointed slightly off target to ensure no accidental shooting in the event of an ND.

Citizen took his eyes off the criminal on a few occasions when he talked to the guy holding the camera.

Still an impressive performance, I'd say. Can anyone tell what kind of gun he has?

Don't get the thread locked before we can discuss it.....

Seems that this guy is a magnet for robbery. He has another video on his YouTube channel about how he chased down another thief and held him at gunpoint with an AR-15. This is very unusual.

The gun looks like it might be a polymer frame Taurus like a 24/7 or Millennium. Possibly a SCCY.
