Re: Gooseneck options
I apologize if my pics are the wrong size, I'm posting from my phone and am lucky to just get them posted on it.
So I looking at the last pic, I hooked a wire from the positive on the coach battery to the 12 volt accessory for the trailer.Witch will charge the battery when hooked to the truck. This trailer happened to have the loading lights hooked to that circuit so I picked it up at the hot side of the switch. Inadvertently it also gained the ability to run the loading lights without it hooked to the truck. A plus in our opinion. I did also install a small circuit breaker inside the battery box on that circuit to keep it from being able to pull too much power on it.

I tried to talk him into letting me mount it all inside a square diamond plate tool box. It could have mounted right thru the the bottom of it and pulled up to the front. The roller fairlead would have mounted right to the out side with a appropriate hole for the cable to come thru. Them you still could have mounted the solar charger to the top of it for keeping the battery charged between uses.

Re: Gooseneck options

I got the chance to try out the trailer for the first time yesterday. Even with the 40' gooseneck, we still had to pull two trailers. I'm going to have to figure out a way to make this work; I can't go any longer than 40' which already is a nightmare trying to get into my own back yard.

Man you have a problem there, I don't know what to tell you...
Buy another truck and trailer and teach one of your wives or don't you have a son old enough to pull a trailer yet?

How about take the 5 ton with you? Get a set of ramps, you should be able to for a couple of atv's in the back.

I'm just going to pull my 20' off the back of my 40' gooseneck. Technically it's too long, but this is Montana and I see 30' boats being towed behind 40' 5th wheel campers regularly during boating season.
